The '''Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure''' is a necklace belonging to [[Princess Peach|Peach]] during the events of ''[[Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!]]''. Though it is seen rarely, it plays a rather large role in its only appearance's plot.

The '''Brooch''' is a circular crest worn over [[Princess Peach]]'s chest. It originally appeared in ''[[Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!]]'', although it appeared in subsequent artwork. Starting with ''[[Super Mario World]]'', Peach is almost never seen without it.

Peach was wearing the Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure from the start of ''Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!'', and she would appear to have dropped it during [[Mario]]'s unsuccessful battle with the [[Koopa Troop]] (during which she was kidnapped by [[Bowser]]), as  Mario soon afterward found it on the floor of [[Mario's House|his home]]. Prior to the time he found the pendant, he had been mocked by [[Luigi]] for his recounting of the wild past events and he himself was beginning to think that he may have dreamed them rather than actually experienced them, but the Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure served as confirmation that the past happenings had indeed happened. Its existence and ability to remind Mario of Princess Peach also seemed to mesmerize him, as he was focused on it and seemingly unable to successfully fulfill [[Miss Endless]]'s grocery orders the following day. During this escapade at [[Mario Bros. Grocery]], Luigi (who was depicted in the anime as very greedy) first noticed Mario's possession of the Visionary Jewel, soon identifying it and believing it to be very valuable. Much to both the brothers' dismay, [[Prince Haru|Kibidango]] soon showed up, engaging in a brawl with Mario and running out of the store with the Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure in tow. The Mario Bros. gave chase to the dog creature, eventually retrieving the Visionary Jewel and stumbling upon the [[Mushroom Kingdom]]. By the end of the film, the Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure was returned to Princess Peach, and it also lifted the last of Bowser's curses over her kingdom: Shortly after Peach put the necklace on, a beam of light from it turned Kibidango (who had previously been cursed by the Koopas and turned into a [[dog]]) back into Prince Haru, prince of the [[List of Implied Locations#Flower Kingdom|Flower Kingdom]] and Peach's fiancé.

The Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure seems to be ''Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> answer to a gem featured on Princess Peach's dress in almost all (if not all) the games she is featured in. As such, it can be said that the Visionary Jewel appears (albeit unnamed) in ''[[Mario (series)|Mario]]'' games, though the Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure has several differences from the in-game gem it would seem to be based on. The name "Visionary Jewel from the Country of Treasure" may not be the necklace's actual name, as the scene in which it is noticed and named by Luigi includes much comic relief, and its naming may have simply been part of this and not meant to be taken at face value.

Mario looking upon the Brooch in awe.

The Brooch is a circular crest worn over Princess Peach's chest. It originally appeared in Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!, although it appeared in subsequent artwork. Starting with Super Mario World, Peach is almost never seen without it.

Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!

In this interpretation of the storyline of Super Mario Bros., the Brooch plays a rather large role.

After Peach briefly escapes from the Koopa via Mario's television, she seemingly dropped her Brooch during his unsuccessful battle with King Koopa. After coming downstairs to investigate the racket, Luigi jadedly dismissed the Mario's claims as a result of his brother playing too many video games. Alone, Mario soon afterward spots it on the floor of their home, confirming to himself that the experience was not a mere dream. Its existence and power to remind Mario of Princess Peach also seemed to mesmerize him, as he was too focused on it to successfully fulfill Miss Endless's shopping orders the following day. During this escapade at the Grocery, Luigi (who was depicted in the anime as particularly greedy) first noticed Mario's possession of the Brooch, hastily and eagerly identifying it as "takara no kuni ni aru maboroshino hōseki" (宝の国にある幻の宝石, lit. visionary gem from the land of treasure), an emerald believed to be very valuable.

Much to both the brothers' dismay, a strange dog-like creature named "Kibidango" soon showed up, engaging in a scuffle with Mario and running out of the store with the Brooch in tow. The Mario Bros. gave chase to the dog, eventually retrieving the Brooch and stumbling upon the Mushroom Kingdom. By the end of the film, the Brooch was returned to Princess Peach, and it also lifted the last of King Koopa's spell over her kingdom. Shortly after Peach put it back on, a beam of light from it turned Kibidango (who had previously been cursed by the Koopa and turned into a dog) back into Haru-ōji, prince of Flower-koku and Peach's fiancé.
