In physics, a worm hole or time slip is a hypothetical feature of space time that is basically a shortcut through space and time (although a time slip is just a shortcut through time that may take one backwards or forwards). Worm holes are utilized for transportation because of their unique ability to take a person anywhere in the universe (and anywhere in time) faster than the speed of light. Worm holes are a feature of both the Mario series and the real world. In the real world, they look almost exactly like Black Holes.

Some examples of worm holes in use are in DK: Jungle Climber where worm holes were used to take Donkey Kong to odd worlds. While in the Club Nintendo comic "Super Mario: Verloren in der Zeit" Mario was transported through time and space to places such as Hösndösn with the use of a worm hole, or time slip. A worm hole was also used in the N-Gang comic "Freeze Frame" where Big B. was transported through a worm hole to the icy landscape that featured the ice castle. In Captain N: The Game Master, Kevin Keene was transported to Videoland through a mystical vortext presumably a worm hole.

In Super Paper Mario, a type of worm hole called a Squarp Hole appears in Outer Space.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Airships appear out of wormholes and attack Fluzzard in Fleet Glide Galaxy. Template:DKJC Levels
