Paper Mario 3DS is an upcoming RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. As the fourth installment in the Paper Mario series, it is the first Paper Mario title to be released for a handheld console, making it the second RPG series on Nintendo's portable systems, after the Mario & Luigi series.

Gameplay

After foregoing the classic battle system in favor of a platformer-style one in Super Paper Mario, Paper Mario 3DS returns to the turn-based system from the first two installments. A screenshot shows Mario's original Jump and Hammer commands, with a redesigned layout for the system's touch screen. Partners also return after being replaced by the Pixls, with screenshots showing a new Chain Chomp at Mario's aid.

Some game screenshots hint that objects, such as bridges, may be movable by the stylus.
