As seen in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Doogans are creatures which bear some resemblance to both hippopotamuses and dogs. So far, they have only made appearances in the Paper Mario games. The badge shop owner Rowf, and his son Rhuff, who can be found in east Toad Town in Paper Mario, are the first Doogans to make an appearance, and the only ones found in Paper Mario. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door most Doogans are thugs seen around Rogueport and the Glitz Pit.
