File categories

Hello, thanks for your uploads. In the future, for the file summaries, remember to replace {{uncategorized}} with a category link. For audio files, it should be replaced with "Category:(game title) media files" in square brackets, as I've done here. Mario JC 11:50, January 24, 2026 (UTC)

Please remember to link categories (place the square brackets around them). A more specific category than "Category:Merchandise images" exists for those images: "Category:Mario Quiz Cards images". Usually for any image, the image category you should add is "Category:(the name of the game/work/etc.) images". Mario JC 11:05, January 26, 2026 (UTC)

Title Case

Coloring book pages

Firstly, thank you for your work expanding the gallery for the two Super Mario Bros.: A Color/Activity Book articles. However, we would like to ask you to refrain from uploading to the wiki every page in a book. While it is an older book which has been out of print, and probably won't attract much attention, there is always the danger of running afoul of copyright laws. To quote our own copyright notices that those book scans are classified under: "It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution book scans for identification and critical commentary on the book in question or the copyrighted images or text(s) depicted on the book in question qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law".

We are not an archive, we strive to document these pieces of media and we only need enough images to properly identify and illustrate the various elements found in them. In this case, you should set apart one illustration for each character listed in the article, preferably with illustrations that feature multiple of them. The end result should be at most 20% of the total number of pages for the book. This is not a definite amount, it is an estimation based on how many characters are in the book. The final number of files should be lower than that.

Please consider posting these scans to the Internet Archive. The first book is already up there, but only has a select few 37 pages. Rykitu 21:11, March 23, 2026 (UTC)
