The quality is much worse as all it does it make it more blurry. A bigger image doesn't make it better-quality; please stop reverting to this version. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 19:35, February 8, 2020 (EST)

Proper nouns[edit]

Country/language names like "Italy"/"Italian" and "Portugal"/"Portuguese" are proper nouns, so they should be capitalised. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:55, May 6, 2020 (EDT)

Reminders[edit]

Hello, DesaMatt. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. A description of the image subject (parameter 1) should always be included, even if it's just a few words. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, DesaMatt. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file into a subject category. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, images related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or one it its subcategories. Media files would use:
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Where did you get this image from? Was it from a retail website? Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 12:24, June 21, 2023 (EDT)

I got it from the Nintendeal Twitter account, not sure where they got it from but i assumed it was official. User:DesaMatt (talk) 13:51, June 21, 2023 (EDT)

Puxancâmon[edit]

Hey, regarding your Mumsie edit summary, could you elaborate on why you don't think it's a reference to Tutankhamun? I mean, clearly I missed the "com a mão" part of the pun (didn't realize they were channeling their inner Asterix with this one), but still. It's a mummy, and most of the name matches... I see, it just seemed like a coincidence to me but i added it back in. User:DesaMatt (talk) 19:38, October 10, 2023 (EDT)

Replacing images[edit]

When you replace a file, make sure to mark the old file for deletion with {{delete}}. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 09:18, November 3, 2023 (EDT)

TTYD NS Spriters Resource[edit]

Hey, so I've noticed you uploading the sample rips from the Spriters Resource pages for TTYD on Switch. I've checked and most of these are inaccurate with how they appear in-game, so I wouldn't recommend uploading them. I'm trying to figure out a more accurate way to get them assembled myself. Sure, I wasn't aware of that. User:DesaMatt (talk) 19:38, October 10, 2023 (EDT)

I realise some were used on the official website, but where in the game (or related media) were the rest used? Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 09:27, September 10, 2024 (EDT)

Google Translate[edit]

Do not use machine translators like Google Translate to translate non-English text, even if it's to change a few words around. It should be translated yourself if you know the language, otherwise please leave it for someone else to do it. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 23:53, January 9, 2026 (EST)

Updating article names[edit]

Hi, DesaMatt. I noticed you moved the articles for the Toad Brigade members to new titles from the Meetup in Bellabel Park DLC. In the future, please do not move an article to a new name unless you are prepared to update the redirects on the wiki as well. There is no inherent automatic process for this - it takes manual effort and is a burden on staff and other members of the userbase. One can see a list of all articles where the old article's name is linked to by clicking on the "What links here" option under "Tools" on the left column of the page. For example, for Hint Toad, it generates this list. (I recommend updating the links in navboxes first before consulting this list, because it displays all articles where the navbox is used as if the name is linked to in the body text of an article.) One needs to manually visit all of these articles and replace links to "Hint Toad" to ones for "Brigade Blue Toad" after moving the the original article to a new name. We do this because linking to the actual name of an article is more efficient for page caching.

Additionally, do you know if all members of the Toad Brigade appear under new names in the Meetup in Bellabel Park DLC? Because if not, there articles should not have been moved. I personally only seeen the blue and purple Toad Brigade members in prerelease material. - Nintendo101 (talk) 15:55, March 25, 2026 (UTC)

Also, it seems you replaced uses of the previous names in the history sections of their respective articles to the new ones from Meetup in Bellabel Park? One cannot do that. By policy, we use the older names for the subject in relevant instances of their history. As examples, one can only refer to Brigade Blue Toad as such in the Super Mario Bros. Wonder history entry; one still needs to refer to him as "Hint Toad" in the Super Mario Odyssey history entry; etc. I hope that makes sense. Please undo these revisions. - Nintendo101 (talk) 16:01, March 25, 2026 (UTC)
