Interacting with other users that disagree with your edits[edit]
Reviewing above and in Talk:Tick-Tock Clock (race course). This is not how you should communicate with editors on a collaborative wiki going forward, per MarioWiki:Courtesy (Users should not...give someone a hard time for undoing their edits.) Please be civil, assume good faith, and rethink your approach on this.

- The template was helpful though --CS Hprfnl Monstrasm Corestompy (talk) 20:00, September 25, 2026 (UTC)Corestompy
- ...No, it wasn't. We've already outlined why it wasn't several times over at this point. And regardless, it does not excuse your rude behavior regarding the aforementioned discussion about the matter. Wandering Poplin (talk) 20:08, September 25, 2026 (UTC)
- The template was already there but it didn't contain the level from SM64, which I thought was weird. --CS Hprfnl Monstrasm Corestompy (talk) 20:14, September 25, 2026 (UTC)Corestompy
- For reference, MarioWiki:Article naming § Shared titles states that typically, it's the plain-titled article (the one without the identifier) which gets the {{about}} template. That is because, being identifier-less, it's the most common title to be searched for, so if one were to look for the Super Mario 64 course, they're already there when searching "Tick Tock Clock" as-is, and it would be pointless for the article with the more specific "race course" identifier to link back to the identifier-less title, especially if that one's not even a race course to begin with.
Generally, articles with identifiers only get an {{about}} template if there's another article out there that the current title could be confused for, but that is not the case with Tick-Tock Clock (race course). Looking through the revision prior to your edits, it seems that the {{about}} template was previously used to also link Tick-Tock Clock (theme). This was probably put there because of various Mario Kart courses which have unique themes of the same name, such as Toad's Factory or DK Mountain. But what I think makes this with Tick-Tock Clock unnecessary whereas it's fine with the other two courses, is because Tick-Tock Clock already has an identifier that makes it pretty clear that the article is not about a theme, whereas Toad's Factory and DK Mountain are identifier-less, thus don't make it clear it's not about a theme and in turn may warrant the {{about}} template. Funnily enough, Tick-Tock Clock (theme) DOES get an identifier, purely because such a title could also refer to the theme that plays on the SM64 course (even if it's not actually titled as such).

- Why was the template deleted then --CS Hprfnl Monstrasm Corestompy (talk) 02:13, September 27, 2026 (UTC)Corestompy
