Formatting[edit]
When linking to articles, you only need to type the two apostrophes if the name is a title for a game, movie etc. (e.g. ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]''), which italicises it. For every other subject (like [[Boo]] and [[World 1-1 (Super Mario Bros.)|World 1-1]]), you only need square brackets. You can read more on MarioWiki:Manual of Style.

To link to a specific level from a specific game, it's done in this format as I've shown above, which is a piped link: [[Article title|Link display title]]
To find the article title, just search it up. Once you have it (say, World 1-4 (Super Mario Bros.)), you just type it as [[World 1-4 (Super Mario Bros.)|World 1-4]]. Please remember that level names don't use apostrophes or quotes.

Use the "Show preview" button when editing. This lets you check what your edits look like before saving them, so you can make fixes to it until it's correct and you can save them; otherwise a flood of edit records are added to the article's history page. Mario JC 22:19, May 23, 2020 (EDT)

Don't remove formatting if you're trying to link a game title. When you do that, the apostrophes should stay, so the brackets go inside them, too (''Super Mario Bros.'' → ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'', not [[Super Mario Bros.]]). Mario JC 22:11, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

We only include official information on mainspace articles, so stuff like "Mario Multiverse" doesn't belong.
