Piscatory Petes[1] also erroneously referred to as Cheep Cheeps[2], are enemies in the Yoshi series. They are exclusively underwater Cheep Cheep variants that are smaller than the common Cheep Cheeps in the game, and their design resembles the Cheep Cheep design of Super Mario World, along with the Blurps from the same game. They come in two varieties: the first one, the blue one, is the most common of the two; this type appears swimming forward slowly, occasionally pausing to block the path, like Blurps in Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins. The second type, the yellow one, is more aggressive. At first, they appear swimming like the blue ones, but when they spot a Yoshi, they will pursue it, swimming directly toward it in straight lines, only changing direction when it pauses or hits a wall. If a Pete Piscatory hits Yoshi, it will make it spin and fall for a short time, which, if Yoshi is near a pit, will result in a life loss. Both types almost appear together and can be defeated with a single torpedo from the Submarine Yoshi transformation. The lips of Piscatory Petes are exactly the same as those of Loch Nestor.
