"The Lost City of Kongoland" is the sixth episode of the second season of Captain N: The Game Master.
Plot sypnosis[edit]
Donkey Kong is sleeping at his treehouse in Kongoland when he is suddenly woken up when overgrown vines perforate the floor.
At Kongoland's village, Prince Plenty is sleeping until Donkey Kong's tantrum wakes him up. His subordinate Major Dolo rushes in and explains that the Lost City of Kongoland has risen, right in front of Donkey Kong's home.
In the Palace of Power, Princess Lana is holding hearings for Videoland's inhabitants. Her latest claim has a blue-skinned humanoid and a dark-skinned man dispute ownership of a cow. Overwhelmed by the amount of requests, Lana thinks of a trick her father used to do and threatens to have Videoland's royal cook separate the cow between the two men if neither of them agrees to give it up. However, when the two seemingly go along with it and chase the cow into a portal to have the cook split it up, Lana becomes self-conscious about her abilities as a ruler.
Prince Plenty emerges from the same portal and explains that his people need help. With the help of a crystal from Kongoland's library, Plenty explains that thousands of years prior, Kongoland was ruled by an ancient city under the purview of a witch doctor named Konga, who commanded mastery of all kinds of plants. When an earthquake sunk the city, Konga vowed that it would rise again and that anyone finding his hidden treasure would gain his powers. The N-Gang agrees to head to Kongoland to destroy the treasure.
Mother Brain and her minions observe Donkey Kong fruitlessly trying to whack vines in front of his home. When Eggplant Wizard protests, saying Donkey Kong is too powerful to attempt to go past him, Mother Brain muses that they will simply let the N-Gang grab the treasure and then steal it from them.
The N-Team is riding a boat through the river of Kongoland. Mega Man opens a box containing many gadgets invented by Dr. Wright and Kid Icarus bemoans he did not have time to explain what they do. Lana still finds herself depressed over what happened at the palace but Kevin encourages her to not blame herself.
After Princess Lana orders the team to test the gadgets, Simon Belmont blows into a whistle and attracts the attention of a flight of Nitpickers. Lana drives them off by firing corks at them using a bazooka, but the accident makes Simon Belmont declare he should be the leader of the team and slaps a coconut with his whip in frustration. The coconut lands in Donkey Kong's face and attracts his attention to the boat. The team splits up, with Lana and Simon riding a hang glider to find the lost city while the rest stay on the boat to distract Donkey Kong.
Simon and Lana crash the glider and find the entrance to the lost city. As they enter it, Mother Brain is right behind them and reminds her henchmen of her plan despite their protestation. Simon triggers a boulder trap, but Lana saves him from being crushed by it. The boulder lands in a recession, causing the treasure of the lost city to emerge, wrapped in what appears to be a cocoon. Simon translates the hieroglyphs on the cocoon and deciphers that it is a warning not to open it. Lana briefly hesitates but opts to open it, saying it is their job to do it.
The cocoon opens up to what appears to be Konga's headdress. King Hippo and Eggplant Wizard try to steal the headdress, but it lands on Lana's head. The rest of the N-Team rushes in and finds Lana seemingly possessed by the spirit of Konga. Mother Brain threatens them for the treasure, but Lana summons several overgrown vines and scare her off along her henchmen. Kevin, mistaking it for a trick, congratulates Lana but soon finds that she is actually possessed by Konga despite his influence briefly flickering. Konga entraps Simon in vines and Donkey Kong bursts in. To deal with the intruder, she summons more vines to attack Donkey Kong and scare him off. Konga summons many plant monsters and the N-Gang (sans Simon) escapes.
Kevin orders Gameboy to keep watching over Lana and Simon to see if they are alright. Mother Brain observes Konga ranting that animals have ruled Kongoland for too long and that it is time for the plants to reign. Hearing this, she orders Eggplant Wizard to steal the headpiece from Konga.
Konga is creating more plant monsters, including a giant T-Rex like plant creature called the Megaplant. Eggplant Wizard pretends to want to join Konga, but an uninterested Konga prepares to kill him. However, he protests and points out he is an eggplant, and Konga, intrigued, offers to give him a test.
At his treehouse, a furious Donkey Kong is packing his belongings but Eggplant Wizard lures him to a vine trap by spawning bananas.
At Prince Plenty's residence, Kevin and the gang realize the headdress must contains Konga’s power. Prince Plenty explains that the headdress must be destroyed to have the lost city sink again, this time forever. Major Dolo rushes in and explains, too late, that the vines have reached his palace. Kevin agrees that Konga must be dealt with.
The N-Gang finds the trapped Donkey Kong and Kevin blasts away the vines holding him to have Donkey Kong fight Konga's Megaplant monsters, but his Zapper is slapped away by a vine. The N-Team struggles with fighting the Megaplants and Donkey Kong pushes the giant Megaplant (and himself) off a cliff. Kevin tries to grab the Zapper but is captured by vines. Seeing the Konga-posessed Lana in front of him, Kevin appeals to Lana's ruler senses. Lana summons enough inner strength to throw away the headdress and Donkey Kong grabs it, crushing it in his palms, resulting in the Megaplants dissapearing. Donkey Kong throws away Mother Brain and her minions and signals to the N-Gang to leave Kongoland.
At the Palace of Power, Lana meets with the two humanoids again. They explain that they divided the cow, in spirit, by sharing its milk and butter. Lana's subjects congratulate on the first anniversary of her rule and Kevin kisses her hand.
