Talk:Super Mini Mario World

The current name of the article is off and features multiple subjects that should probably be split. I'll start with the description of the March of the Minis theme park.

"The Mario Toy Company’s new toy, the Mini Mario, is a smash hit! The Mini Mario has raked in so much money that the company’s superstar president, Mario, has decided to open a toy-filled theme park called Super Mini Mario World. Today is the grand opening of Super Mini Mario World. Lots of people have come to watch the festivities." - Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis instruction booklet, pg. 6

The back of the box also has this sentence: "It’s the opening day of the new Super Mini Mario World theme park, and DK has kidnapped the gorgeous guest of honor, Pauline!"

As for Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, the game's DSi Shop descriptions also reference Super Mini Mario World, with the North American version calling the opening celebration an expansion and the European version a re-opening. Either way, the setting is identical. "New! Super Mini Mario World" is shown on a banner in-game.

The article claims that the name of the theme park was changed in Mini-Land Mayhem!, but the manual doesn't indicate that Mini-Land is revisited like the DSi entry, but rather a separate "new" location.

"Mario and Pauline are celebrating the grand opening of Mario’s new outdoor theme park, Mini-Land." - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! instruction booklet, pg. 4

(As an aside, since this doesn't yet have an article or redirect, on the same page: "Mario and the Mini Marios jump aboard the park’s train, the Super Mini Mario Express, in hot pursuit of Donkey Kong.")

It would appear the festival in Minis on the Move is actually a third event called the Mini Toy Carnival, seen here. It doesn't seem like Super Mini Mario World or Mini-Land are mentioned by name. I can only presume that Tipping Stars returns to Mini-Land because it's mentioned in the game's Japanese title. Finally, Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge isn't set in a theme park or carnival, but the storyline is minimalist to nonexistent. LinkTheLefty (talk) 01:49, 10 December 2016 (EST)

Split larger locations; do not create separate articles for Super Mini Mario Express and Mini Arcade 4-0-0
As a frequent editor of articles related to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, I can confirm LinkTheLefty's above claim: Super Mini Mario World, the Mini Land Theme Park, and the Mini Toy Carnival are all separate locations that warrant their own separate articles.

  • The Mini Land Theme Park is the setting of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, where it is known as Mini-Land according to the game's North American instruction booklet. Additionally, according to the Japanese title for Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, which is "Mario buiesu Donkī Kongu Minna de Mini Rando" (Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land with Everyone), Mini-Land is presumably also the setting of that game. However, the most recent name for this location is "the Mini Land Theme Park", as described in the Introduction tab of the English digital manual for Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move.
  • The Mini Toy Carnival is the setting of Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, as described by its English digital manual's Introduction tab.

The Mini Land Theme Park features a transportation system to navigate between its attractions known as the Super Mini Mario Express, while the Mini Toy Carnival features a game arcade run by Donkey Kong and Pauline known as Mini Arcade. However, I believe that giving these locations their own articles would be redundant; they are merely minor subsets of the Mini Land Theme Park and the Mini Toy Carnival, respectively, and should only be described within those articles.

As for Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge, I cannot find any information whatsoever regarding any specific name for the setting of that game, so it should not be listed under any of these articles.
