Merge to Koopa Shell[edit]

Okay, so here me out here. While this sticker has a Koopa Troopa run on screen for Mario to stomp so that he can kick the shell at enemies, I don't think the "summon Koopa Troopa" portion actually matters. It's an attack where a shell is launched at enemies, just like the the player might do in platforming games. The Koopa Troopa is only appearing to narritively justify the attack: it could easily have been a shell appearing in front of Mario. Or perhaps... Mario takes the shell out of an ill-defined inventory, like Green Shell in the Mario & Luigi series. That is also a "kick Shell at enemies" and it does not have its own page. Rather, it shares the same page as Green Shell, even though Green Shell in Mario & Luigi bounces off enemies and involves multiple kicks. If anything, the Mario & Luigi attack is more distinct from standard Green Shell behavior than the Sticker Star sticker is to Koopa Shell behavior, and yet the Sticker Star one that has its own article. That just doesn't seem right.

Further, I should note a number of other stickers which attack with reoccurring objects either never had their own page or did but it has been converted to being about the object in general. Wrench, Barrel, Boomerang, Spike Ball, Mushroom, POW Block. I could go on, but the point is Shell (sticker) belongs next to Koopa Shells in the same way other sticker counterparts do.

Oh and while we're at it: Shiny Shell and Flashy Shell keep their pages. *bzzt* Oh, I've just been informed Shiny Shell never got a page and has been sitting on Koopa Shell's page the entire time. Correction, Flashy Shell keeps its page and we create a new Shiny Shell page. Yes, those are separate pages from the shells the stickers represent. Why? Parity with Shiny Mushroom, Shiny Fire Flower, Shiny Goomba, and so on. The important part of Shiny Shell and Flashy Shell is their shininess and flashiness, because that's how Sticker Star ranks subjects. Them corresponding with the shell of a Red Koopa Troopa and a Buzzy Shell is relevant, but ultimately not as core to the idea of the attack as the shininess and flashiness. instead of trying to pursue consistency with other articles, maybe we should look at what each article needs. "The M&L Green Shell is merged, so this should be too" feels like a poor argument to someone like me, who thinks M&L's Green Shell should be split. the sticker consistency article is solider, though i'm not familiar enough with Sticker Star to gauge how much. perhaps it'd be better if we split all the other sticker attacks too? — Super Leaf stamp from Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.eviemaybe (talk / contributions) 10:51, May 31, 2025 (EDT)
