Others?Edit
Platforms with extremely similar function appear in some of the Yoshi's Island and I think New Super Mario Bros. games (they're ostensibly not sand - although I'm not sure if the Super Mario World one was really supposed to be despite the name we have); however, it may be better placed here than in the Cascading Stone article, though that may mean renaming the article to "Sliding Block". Thoughts? LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:53, July 21, 2023 (EDT)
- I'm thinking more of this being a type of moving wall as seen in World 7-Tower (New Super Mario Bros.) and #2 Morton's Castle from Super Mario World. However, I can't find an article related to moving obstacles designed to crush players. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 04:14, July 23, 2023 (EDT)

I think both objects are sufficiently different and unrelated to have separate pages. Are we sure the Super Mario World thing can be considered at least liquid or sand-like? Besides, the page is bad in its current state. Sorbetti (talk) 18:14, October 3, 2025 (EDT)
- "{{conjectural merge}}" could work instead if we don't have a usable name for the Super Mario Galaxy thing. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:18, October 3, 2025 (EDT)
- I don't think SMW's "falling layer 2" effect, which returns in NSMBW in the form of purple gem platforms, should be considered the same as the moving sand in Galaxy. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:30, October 3, 2025 (EDT)
- Sliding Stones are pretty much the same idea as the Super Mario World / New Super Mario Bros. Wii objects, though I'm unsure if putting all that here would need a new proposal. As for Super Mario Galaxy, I did spot an instance of "moving sand" in the Prima guide - maybe "moving sand (Dusty Dune Galaxy)"? LinkTheLefty (talk) 07:07, October 4, 2025 (EDT)
