Name[edit]

I don't know if Nintendo Power's Super Mario Advance 3 guide changed this, but these enemies appear to be nameless in the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island guide. However, the Japanese name has been confirmed in Shogakukan's Super Mario Advance 3 guide. Additionally, it turns out that the Japanese version of Super Princess Peach refers to the "Raven" enemies as Hina-kyū, which matches these smaller Ravens and not the bigger ones that also go by that name. Therefore, unless there's another source contradicting it, the article should be titled "Raven (small)" after the name in the in-game Super Princess Peach Glossary. Not anymore, now that there's a rule that says that unique names should take priority if possible. However, a citation would still be nice. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:24, 7 November 2017 (EST)
Would you happen to know which levels these guys appear in? The NP guide doesn't have a concise glossary. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 22:39, 7 November 2017 (EST)
@Doc: That doesn't apply here since it's the only working source we have so far, unless we resort to the internal name (/StageEnemy/hinakyu_D02_ncg.bin / /StageEnemy/hinakyu_D02_ncl.bin), which is a romanization of the Japanese. If we leave it as Mini-Raven, it should be considered conjectural unless there's a source, but Super Princess Peach already has a name for it (albeit an inconsistent one).
@Time Turner: I believe they appear in the same stages as ordinary Ravens, which I think consist of Worlds 3-8, 5-7, & 5-8. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:42, 8 December 2017 (EST)
Maybe "Raven (baby)," since the Japanese name seems to state that they're young ones, and not just small-sized ones? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:27, 23 May 2018 (EDT)
"Raven (chick)" would be more specific, although a size difference might be the more obvious thing to use as the identifier. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:50, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
Maybe Mario jc has a source for the Mini-Raven name? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 02:26, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
Ps: I'm asking in case Mario jc does have a guide for the latter. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 02:35, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
Alex95 has a copy of Nintendo Power's Super Mario Advance 3 guide, and he says that it is named "Raven" in the section for 5-7: Shifting Platforms Ahead. In addition, the original Super Nintendo version states that Ravens appear in Naval Piranha's Castle (contrary to what the article currently indicates, it's these little guys, not the adult Ravens), and as mentioned, the Super Princess Peach Glossary also calls it a Raven. Since there aren't many working official English sources for Yoshi's New Island, we have sufficient information for a move. 20:45, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
What do you mean by "working?" Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:51, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
As in, no official guide, the English website has nothing and the internal name is, as expected, a romanization of the Japanese (same as in Super Princess Peach). LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:55, 18 September 2018 (EDT)
