Location vs Item?

So... This currently has the item infobox and category. Because logic says its something the player uses, and is therefore an item. But it's a building, as per Super Mario Run's terminology, and buildings are locations. Not really sure who wins here. Salmancer (talk) 12:37, January 18, 2025 (EST)

It's a thing. It's a pipe. One thing is something like Mario's house that is also a location in other games and media, but this is 100% an object. Mariuigi Khed 17:25, January 18, 2025 (EST)

I personally would describe an "item" as something the player can hold, consume, or collect by touch. I would not consider a Warp Pipe to be an item, for example. - Nintendo101 (talk) 11:57, June 25, 2025 (EDT)

A debate on if the buildings and decorations of Super Mario Run as a whole are objects or items is probably better conducted on the List of Kingdom Builder items in Super Mario Run, as that entire page is under the Category:Super Mario Run items.
