Are Nippa and Wendy the same character?Edit
I personally think Nippa and Wendy are the same character. Other than their striking resemblance, proof for this, in my opinion, is that before Super Mario Bros 3's release in America in 1990, the Koopalings had no official names. Because Super Mario Bros. Monogatari was published in 1989, so before the Koopalings had official names. This counts also for Ippa, which I think is Larry.La Ioscia Viola (talk) 05:33, September 21, 2025 (EDT)

- I'm actually really unsure of Zanpa and Iggy being the same character. In Super Mario Bros. Monogatari, many character differ a lot, if not entirely, from their videogame counterparts, so Zanpa could be even Roy, because they both wear sunglasses and, like Wendy has no hair and Nippa has them, it may be that, if Zanpa and Roy are really the same character, the writer decided to add hair to him. I see. Zappa and Iggy being the same character actually makes sense because they resemble eachother very much, and there's a pattern regarding the SMB3 Koopalings and the SMBM Koopalings: Larry is the first Koopaling fought in-game, and Ippa is the first-born of Bowser's children in the novel; Wendy is the third Koopaling fought in-game and Nippa is the second-born of Bowser's children in the novel, so if Iggy is the fourth Koopaling fought in-game and Zappa being the third of Bowser's children, the two of them being the same character totally makes sense.
By the way, why is it stated that Ippa, Nippa and Zappa are given names? On Behind the Name, none of these names is listed, not even in the user-submitted name section. I know that sometimes, names are so obscure that they're not listed on Behind the Name, but I think it's more likely that the writer of SMBM invented the names.La Ioscia Viola (talk) 01:05, September 22, 2025 (EDT)
