The name[edit]
As the "Koopa Ball" name is conjectural, I support the idea of renaming the article "Wonder Ball" after the item from Color Splash, as it's the closest we'll get to an official name for Lemmy's balls. That, or I'm just biased towards Color Splash. AwdryFan1997 (talk) 05:51, June 5, 2020 (EDT)
- I agree. Pikachu210 (talk) 15:30, June 30, 2020 (EDT)
- FYI: "Wonder Ball" is the name of a specific bouncing ball that Lemmy rides.

- Perhaps, but now there's a Nintendo Power reference for "magical ball", and if it's good enough for Wendy's ring, it's good enough for Lemmy's balls. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:45, November 16, 2020 (EST)
- Right, so jumping back into this, we overlooked that, in-game, it is just called a "ball" in Lemmy's trophy. Should we simplify magical ball to ball, move the existing Ball article to Ball (Game & Watch), and create a disambiguation page? I feel would could easily do the same to candy ring, making it the main ring article and moving the current article as a disambiguation page, over the ring's in-game mention. Both would also be closer to the more plain Japanese names. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:36, November 18, 2020 (EST)

Are we sure these balls Are intended to be this? I know the sprite depicts them as spheres with a star on it, but... They don't bounce, i don't think i've seen any official guides connecting them. And also, they're just normal-ass flames in the art works. I wouldn't oppose writing the similarities, but not outright claim they are supposed to be Magical ball. -- FanOfYoshi at 05:46, June 19, 2025 (EDT)
- Prototypes, at least, drew them clearly as balls with circles patterned across them rather than the ambiguous ball of flame they resemble in the final game, so there's that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:01, June 19, 2025 (EDT)
- Yeah, but i still have doubts on whether they are intended to be the same thing. The Super Mario World profiles seem to specifically state they are fireballs. I would say it's a Bumper situation (ironically, Bumper used lemmy's balls as a pattern for the NSMBU style) but only design wise. --
