Single Issues[edit]
Do we really need entire pages for VHS releases of single episodes? I know they contain an extra live-action segment, but I feel like most of the information on those pages could just be merged into the actual episode pages. The VHS blurbs are often already included in the episode pages anyway... Shadow2 (talk) 23:25, August 7, 2025 (EDT)
- I just created a template for home media and plan to implement it on every home media page. The template will include information that cannot easily be put on other pages, such as age ratings, and, as such, these pages are necessary to cover such information. Additionally, the removal of these VHSes from the template (due to their pages being deleted) may also result in others believing that they do not exist, due to their absence on the template.

- What do you mean? The episode pages have really long plot synopses; there's plenty of space for an additional infobox. You can also still have all the VHSes in the template, but the single-episode ones would just link to the "list of media" page instead. The Super Mario Bros. Movie does not have a separate page for its home media releases, nor does the original 1993 film. Both of these entities are fully capable of expressing age ratings, release dates, manufacturers, etc... It does not seem necessary to me to have a page about the episode, and then a page about the VHS containing that episode. Shadow2 (talk) 07:51, August 8, 2025 (EDT)
- I think I understand now: The information on the single VHS pages should be merged to the episodes they are based on. Okay, I guess I could merge the information to the episodes. Still can't figure out how I would incorporate the age ratings to the episode articles; adding the age rating to the episode articles may make it seem like the episodes were given the ratings as opposed to the VHSes.

- Probably just need to add a label or something similar onto the infobox. Shadow2 (talk) 19:37, August 8, 2025 (EDT)
- Having pages for every home media release in the Super Mario cartoons and the Donkey Kong Country television series has sort of been a de facto guideline for the wiki in terms of home media pages; we shouldn't create pages for some releases of the shows and not others based solely on the amount of content it contains, as the releases usually contain only select episodes of the show and not the entire show itself. As for the films, the reason why we don't have separate pages for their home media releases is because the only home media releases these films have are literally the film itself; sometimes with additional content, which can be covered in a respective section on the film's page.

- Also, having only the single-episode VHS's rating on the episode and not the other home media releases would effectively be cherry-picking ratings for the episode, not to mention it being redundant due to the rating already being mentioned on the show's article as well as misleading as it is the VHS that was assigned the rating, not the episode itself. Additionally, I don't think there were single-episode releases of any of the other shows other than The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, meaning that only its episode infobox would be the only infobox edited to accompany a new rating parameter.
- In short, we make pages for the home media releases of the Super Mario cartoons and Donkey Kong Country television series since they usually contain select episodes of the series they are based on as opposed to the entire series, but we don't make pages for the home media releases for the films since the majority of the releases are literally the entire film itself, with little differences between the releases outside the cover art and possibly additional content.

Audio cassettes[edit]
Not too sure if this is a mistake, but do the audio cassettes all contains the same episodes? It says here that all six contain the episodes "The Great Gladiator Gig" and "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em." Kaptain

- That's a mistake on my part when copy-and-pasting to add the audio cassettes to the list; I'll fix it immediately.
