Just a question but why did we call this "Lakeside Park's theme", instead of just "Lakeside Park"? Orange Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 18:08, October 5, 2026 (UTC)

Likely because it's 100% a conjectural name and this is the most apt description for it than saying that it's the official theme. However, the page is wordier than just "Lakeside Park (theme)" especially since this theme is exclusive to just this track and it would be consistent with our official Mario Kart track naming schemes. Ohh, ok, thanks! Though I do wonder why we then still insist on calling the title themes of each MK game where it isn't confirmed yet "[game] Title Screen". Orange Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 21:15, October 5, 2026 (UTC)
IMO, this page should be moved to Lakeside Park (theme) to maintain consistency, same reason the Title Screen names are like that too. Readers will already know that it's not the official name because of the conjecture template. BabyLuigiFire.pngXiahou Ba(the Nasty Warrior) 21:44, October 5, 2026 (UTC)
I agree. That's why I found it weird that this article was named like this. Orange Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 14:53, October 12, 2026 (UTC)
I think it's better to not have to format the title with quotation marks. Also, this is consistent with World 2-3's theme and Greenhorn Forest's theme. TDM-sig-PFP.png The Dab Master 17:55, October 12, 2026 (UTC)
I'd just like to chime in here as the original creator and, for an entire month after it's initial creation, only contributor of this page; I entirely agree with this sentiment. I see no reason why we shouldn't keep conjecturally named pages, even those for themes, consistent with officially named ones, since all it serves to do is make things extremely confusing. When I deployed this page, I didn't even put it here; I put it under Lakeside Park (theme), but it was moved here after the fact. While I'm not at liberty to make calls on what is and isn't "acceptable" for conjectural names, I feel like the bare minimum should be to have it be consistent with the official names Nintendo has given to similar themes. That's why when I made the drafts for Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart DS's title themes, I named them in the same style Nintendo has been naming every other officially released Mario Kart title theme on Nintendo Music prior to Mario Kart World. With something like Greenhorn Forest's theme, I feel like that should be Greenhorn Forest (theme), because, based on how Nintendo names similar tracks officially, it's pretty clear that they wouldn't call it "Greenhorn Forest's theme" and would likely just call it "Greenhorn Forest", whereas something like Rambi's theme makes sense to be referred to as such because it wouldn't make sense based on how Nintendo commonly names themes for it to just be named "Rambi". I think it's pretty telling that, for something officially named, like "Waluigi Pinball" for example, there isn't a conjectural title redirect for "Waluigi Pinball's theme", but for every conjecturally named page like this one where "'s theme" is tacked on to the end for no reason other than just because it's conjectural has a redirect with an identifier rather than the suffix.
