Merge[edit]
How about we merge this with List of implied characters, as it's an implied character, and he's a minor implied character, so he should just be a section. Balugio (talk) 15:57, October 16, 2026 (UTC)
- It's also a hilariously short article. Yeah, this really has not reason to exist. (Unless he actually audibly spoke during the track at some point, which the text does not seem to support.) Wandering Poplin (talk) 16:01, October 16, 2026 (UTC)
- While I'm not familiar with Donkey Kong Goes Home, Jake does not seem to be an "implied" character. Donkey Kong Goes Home being a spoken story does not diminish the value of its characters. If the character cannot support a separate article, the relevant information can be covered directly in the Donkey Kong Goes Home article. B700465189a9 (talk) 16:06, October 16, 2026 (UTC)
- Assuming this is the actual record, then Jake does have a speaking role. I don't think he should count as an "implied" character, just because the story has no visuals. Whether or not he should be merged elsewhere, I don't know. Fakename123 (talk) 21:40, October 16, 2026 (UTC)
- I can't speak for Balugio, but my opinion regarding merging Jake's page (Aside from being the page being a "hilariously short article,") largely hinged on whether or not he had a speaking role, since obviously physical appearances aren't really possible for a story without visual accompaniment. Obviously, it would be absurd to expect that.
- That being said, the issue about it being "hilariously short" (Which is getting less hilarious every time I say it...) is still in play, and quite problematic. The fact that the entirety of this page only amounts to three sentences and an infobox... It just does not feel right at all. Perhaps the article could be fleshed out by including a few quotes from the record, perhaps? Wandering Poplin (talk) 22:00, October 16, 2026 (UTC)
- Sometimes, a page being short is less so indicative of a problem with the page, and more just because there's not really much to write on the subject in the first place. Take for example Fireball Punch, Dash Pad, or Vision; each of these pages are even shorter than Jake's page, but of the three, the only one really in dire need of assistance is the first one... Which is really only missing an image (and a navbox, if we're being pedantic, but said navbox doesn't yet exist).
...That being said, adding a quote to this page to make it more obvious Jake does, in fact, have a speaking role, definitely wouldn't hurt it, though... ;p
