This... isn't a variant. This isn't even a "subspecies." (Which I recall that they were once classified as on this wiki.) This is simply a tribe of Toads in region-specific costumes. Nothing more.

I see very little purpose for this article's existence. Especially considering this page's small size, it's current, somewhat inaccurate classification, and the fact that the Nomadimice, a similar set of characters from the same region, have been merged to Little Mouser's page by now. Practically anything we'd need to say about "Dryites" could easily be covered to the Paper Mario section in the History of the Toad species page, so I think it's time this article finally vanished into the desert sands...

Any thoughts about the matter? Wandering Poplin (talk) 19:24, January 29, 2026 (UTC)

They seem to actually have a distinct Japanese name, basic as it is, not to mention a unique design, so that gives it more reason to be split than Nomadimice had (which were literally just relocalized Little Mousers). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:21, January 30, 2026 (UTC)
even if they're not a separate species biologically, they're very much a distinct type of Toad. considering their unique appearance, name and location, i don't see any benefit in merging these. — eviemaybe Tanooki Mario's tail, cropped (talk) 19:11, January 30, 2026 (UTC)
