Remove featured article status[edit]
- SuperGamer18 (talk) Let me get straight to the point: the Wii is an extremely popular console, a massive hit if you will. You probably already knew that, right? Well, this article was featured all the way back in 2010 and has stayed there since. So how come an unfeature nomination only appeared just now? Well, you see, there's quite a few things that aren't sourced in the article, such as most discontinuation dates and a few release dates (I was able to add sources for most of the latter when it comes to the system itself), as well as some NIOL stuff (the table for the console's name in particular is quite barebones). Additionally, the Nintendo Channel section has a stub template, which is already a significant no-no for a featured article. And to top it off, the article mentions nothing about the Wii Fun Center, an officially licensed station for hospitalized kids by Starlight in cooperation with NoA and features a significant amount of Mario games across a few lists as seen in the Rare Gaming Dump Wiki (the Wii U and Switch 1 articles don't cover their respective stations in this series of systems either, so look out for that). I'd like to add that I also don't exactly feel comfortable with how the revisions and peripherals sections are formatted, especially at the top. Here's a TL;DR if you prefer: 1) Add more citations, particularly for discontinuation dates 2) Address the stub template 3) Cover the Wii Fun Center (as well as the Wii U Fun Center and the Nintendo Switch Gaming station) and 4) Do something about the formatting in the revisions and peripherals section. I'll give it credit for a few things, though. The article covers most relevant subjects well enough, features no red links and has good quality images for the most part (albeit with inconsistent resolutions/quality, which is especially concerning for screenshots).
- Wandering Poplin (talk) Agreed. Currently, the article currently contains a few too many blind spots/missing info to be considered one of the best articles on this wiki. Or at least for now...
- Camwoodstock (talk) Having so many unsourced dates, statements, and foreign names is a bad sign, and the incomplete Nintendo Channel section is another thing (seriously, Nintendo Week has a more complete coverage...), but honestly, our problems lie with one fundamental issue; this page is built on top of over a decade of different editing standards, and it kinda... Shows. Image alignments bounce around in increasingly odd ways for reasons we can only assume were lost to time, the list of games is a bullet-pointed list AND the gallery(?!), the "Appearances in the Super Mario franchise" being structured almost, but not quite, like our references sections, with them still using bespoke headers and not sorting it in strictly chronological order. What is going on here? Source the statements, add the demos list, and most importantly, finally update this thing to use the most recent editing standards, and we'd be willing to change our tune. As for now, though... Yeesh.
- The Dab Master (talk) Wii should indeed unfeature this. Per all.
- Power Flotzo (talk) Per everyone else.
- EvieMaybe (talk) per all, particularly Camwoodstock.

By the way, I have a related question which is loosely to this issue: Where in the world did this image come from? It's been sitting in the Wii's gallery section for some time now, but the article never mentions it at all outside of the gallery, and the origins of the accessory itself are never mentioned. Is it even official? Wandering Poplin (talk) 23:40, February 18, 2026 (UTC)
- To be honest I have no idea if it's even remotely relevant to the article (or this wiki for that matter). As for the origin of that image, it's most likely this Amazon listing. There's also a few other similar products out there. If that image has to get deleted off of this wiki, then I wouldn't mind it. SuperGamer18 (talk) 00:37, February 19, 2026 (UTC)
