Jumping Mario is a minigame playable in Family BASIC V3. Instructions to code the minigame were published in the licensed magazine Family Computer and Family BASIC Perfect Book by Natsumesha.
Gameplay[edit]
The player controls Mario, with the object of the game simply being to jump as far as possible off the starting platform. Upon starting the game, the player will hear a short tone. Mario will start walking toward the edge of the platform if the player presses the button. To make Mario move faster (and, thus, jump further), the player must either press
repeatedly or hold it down. Once Mario reaches the edge of the platform and jumps off, his resulting score (measured in centimeters) will be saved to a scoreboard in the top right corner of the screen. The highest score will be saved separately in a "record" box directly above the scoreboard. The player is allowed to jump three times, after which they must press
to play again if they wish to continue.
