*The bosses in The Gauntlet may be a nod to Shiny Pokemon from the Pokemon series: both are alternate color palettes of the original character, and are(in Pokemon's case, only sometimes) stronger versions of the original. Many Shiny Pokemon look incredibly similar to their original counterparts, and this concept is true for Bowser X, as he retains his original coloration.

The Gauntlet is an area in the Challenge Node that Mario and Luigi can access in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. The Gauntlet is where the plumbers face X bosses, harder versions of bosses they have battled before. The X bosses that can be fought in the Gauntlet are:
