the official name in English should be Blooming Lakitu as the name suggests the level in which they appear. --Sonic98 (talk) 13:07, 6 February 2013 (EST)

The name of the level has nothing to do with this type of Spiny Egg. Plus, it is a type of Spiny Egg, so it can't be called "Blooming Lakitu" like you suggested. --- ThePremiumYoshi
Let's just do it as conjectural, Gūrindai is impossible to type in the Google bar. I say we call it a Piranha Plant Egg, for now.

i think official names from any language take precedence over conjectural english ones. - Turboo (talk) 21:59, 19 March 2013 (EDT)
Yup. According to our naming policy, "If there is no official English name, then the first released official name of the subject in another language is used." Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:56, 20 March 2013 (EDT)
Also, the level names might use non-offical names to make sure they alliterate or rhyme. --Hiccup (talk) 13:41, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
If an enemy name is in a level name, we assume that's the real name unless there's more explicit info to the contrary: anything else is overly speculative, not to mention looking a gift horse in the teeth. Not that it matters here anyway, seeing as "Blooming Lakitu" clearly doesn't refer to the thing the Lakitus themselves are tossing about, so really, there was no good reason to even add that comment to this two-year old conversation at all... - Walkazo 22:09, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
If it's any consolation, this conversation just made me think to check for this enemy's name in the Prima guide. Unfortunately, we have this: "The final Star Coin sits here, within easy reach. Beware of the Big Piranha Plants, along with the Piranha Plants that Lakitu might be raining down, as you move to collect this final prize." No luck on that end. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
