The notion to split the Mario Discovery games was brought up before, but not much has come of it. I think it would be simple to start with the NES version of Mario's Time Machine. Simply put - it's an entirely different game. It has very little in common with its other counterparts. The other home versions of these games are basically just altered conversions based on the MS-DOS originals and have enough commonalities that they're recognizably the same games, but NES Mario's Time Machine really could not be more different from its MS-DOS/SNES counterpart. The first option will just focus on that. However, I've included a second option that goes for the whole works: split that as well as Mario's Time Machine (Super Nintendo Entertainment System), Mario is Missing! (Nintendo Entertainment System) and Mario is Missing! (Super Nintendo Entertainment System). In this scenario, the PC versions will still be the default articles, since they came for several formats (e.g. MS-DOS, Mac, and "CD-ROM Deluxe"). I'm also excluding the Mario's Early Years! games because I have my limits. <s>I swear if second option wins I'm going to pretend it's an early April Fools' joke on me.</s>

:I don't think it's going to matter much for the first option, because the PC version will still be sharing real estate with the SNES version and the other article won't be affected. But fine, what's a good identifier? "PC" or "personal computer"? LinkTheLefty (talk) 19:25, March 14, 2024 (EDT)

Do we have a page for those weird bodyslamming Koopas from this game? Binarystep (talk) 01:52, 26 February 2015 (EST)

The notion to split the Mario Discovery games was brought up before, but not much has come of it. I think it would be simple to start with the NES version of Mario's Time Machine. Simply put - it's an entirely different game. It has very little in common with its other counterparts. MS-DOS, Mac, and "CD-ROM Deluxe")EDIT: Per Doc's request, the second option is going bigger, and the default articles will be turned into disambigs ala the Mario & Sonic games. I'm also excluding the Mario's Early Years! games because I have my limits. I swear if second option wins I'm going to pretend it's an early April Fools' joke on me.

Split Mario's Time Machine (Nintendo Entertainment System) only

 1. LinkTheLefty (talk) It's more or less the same game in name only. Please pick this one or the last for my sanity.

Split both console versions of Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine

Don't split anything or you'll get a splitting headache

Comments

I object to the PC one getting priority, personally. Aside from sprite-based memes, I'm more familiar with the NES ones thanks to those being the most easily emulated. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:13, March 14, 2024 (EDT)

I personally think "PC" will do. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:37, March 14, 2024 (EDT)
All right, I've changed that part of the proposal and I dread it since I can only stomach NES MTM. LinkTheLefty (talk) 19:44, March 14, 2024 (EDT)
