Wow, what's your source of the descriptions? Are they officially out in English already? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:31, 5 February 2008 (EST)

Every single trophy description can be found here -
[1]
Saddly, they didn't list the names :( --Bentendo 12:44, 5 February 2008 (EST)
Oh, and btw - I'll add more, I've just got to get a haircut real quick! --Bentendo 12:46, 5 February 2008 (EST)

...

I'll be gone for a couple of weeks and won't be able to work on this until I get back. You can add to if you want, though if not I'll do it when I get back. --Bentendo 14:44, 6 February 2008 (EST)

I don't think we should start working on this page until we get solid English text from the soon to be released NA version. Most of these look fan-translated anyway.Knife (talk) 18:39, 6 February 2008 (EST)

... Even if it's been translated, I don't see the problem in adding it and just replacing it when the localized version has been released. Besides, some official english descriptions have been shown in videos and images, and they fit the descriptions in this "translation". Oh, and by the way I didn't lie about being on vacation - the hotel I'm at has a free internet service. --Bentendo 09:31, 7 February 2008 (EST)
Trophy #144 is missing - or, more likely, there's a mistake in the numbering. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:36, 9 February 2008 (EST)

Uh

Are all of the descriptions on these trophies (ALL) direct quotes? Some of them sound kinda half-[you know the word] to me..lol. Fixitup

Uhm no, I don't know which word you mean. What's wrong with the descriptions? Are they too short? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:23, 15 February 2008 (EST)
Are they official quotes or not? What word I meant isn't what you should be concerned about. Fixitup
Well, see the source above: [2] It's quite reliable simply considering that all trophies are listed. If something is wrong or different in the English version, we can still change it then. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:25, 15 February 2008 (EST)

Headlines vs. Sortable

Currently, there are headlines like "Character Trophies" and "Mario Series" marking the beginning of a certain group of trophies. This sounds like reasonable sorting. However, the table is now no longer sortable. So we either have to remove the "sortable" tag of the table (which is currently useless, try clicking the arrows), or the headlines. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:14, 25 February 2008 (EST)

BC has a list of trophies now and most of them have pictures FH-sprite.pngFreekhenstraFH-sprite.png

Twilight

Trophies of Gorons and Zoras say their first appearances were TP but obviously they appeared before that. Are you sure it says TP? linkswordmi2.gifPaper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·linkswordmi2.gif

Brawl Central also lists their first appearances as Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:09, 4 March 2008 (EST)

Oh No...

Both Peach Blossom and Zelda are listed as number 20... crud. Stumpers! 19:24, 10 April 2008 (EDT)

Oh dear... Even learning how to program wiki bots sounds less work. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 07:36, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

I Can't Edit

Huh. I'm assuming the reason I can't edit the page is because it's so large. Is there a way I can get around that. — Stooben Rooben 00:06, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

When editing I get this message above my edit box:

WARNING: This page is 263 kilobytes long; some browsers may have problems editing pages approaching or longer than 32kb. Please consider breaking the page into smaller sections.

What browser are you using? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:28, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
I use Mozilla Firefox. But what's weird is this is the only page I can't edit. Articles like Mario that are over 32kb (even my userpage) don't give me trouble. — Stooben Rooben I wouldn't worry about it too much though; there's plenty of other articles to edit.

Donkey Kong

Is the Donkey Kong game really listed as being for the NES? It was Arcade first, after all. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:20, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

The trophy also says Kaptain K. Rool is King. K. Rool brother and Cranky Kong trophy ignores the fact that he was playable in at least two games before Barrel Blast. What do you expect :|? --Blitzwing 07:45, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
And Zelda: Twilight Princess is listed for Wii despite Link obviously being from the GameCube version of the game. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 07:59, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

I think it's cuz the Wii version of Twilight Princess was more well-known, or something. I dunno... My Bloody Valentine

They have left-handed Link, who is from the GameCube version. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:05, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

Then Sakurai really did a half-@$$ed job on the Trophy summaries. :| My Bloody Valentine

That reminds me... should we mention the European versions of those game listings? In Melee they had already renamed the Star Fox games and the "TOP SECRET" items. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:10, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

Uhhhh... Not sure. Did we do that with the Melee Trophy List? My Bloody Valentine

No(t yet). - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:04, 5 May 2008 (EDT)

Why is this here?

It's the largest page on the wiki, and all of it is simply an archive of information, unedited, from one non-Mario game. It's certainly copyright infringement. Additionally, 90%+ is totally unrelated to Mario, who is the focus of this wiki (right?) SmashWiki -- a much more likely source for this info -- has the exact same page, but completed, right here. I'm not saying this should be deleted, but why not strip it down to just Mario series information, and link off to SmashWiki for those who want to know more?

And yes, I know I'm going to be crucified for daring to suggest that Brawl isn't some sort of a disc-based god, but this is just a silly waste of space. - 2257(Talk) 22:01, 18 August 2008 (EDT)

Actually, no one's going to crucify you... but they might get mad if you're accusing them of worshiping a video game. What I was going to say is that there currently is a large movement to reduce Smash content on this Wiki, so if you'd like to take part in this you can discuss the upcoming "series pages" proposal that will be merges of all minor characters, items, etc. That's on the discussion section of the current Smash proposal. There's also conversation on the main talk page. Stumpers! 23:22, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, I wasn't really accusing anyone of worshiping a video game, though some people might. There's just so much Smash Bros. content here, and there's really no rationale, so I kind of assumed that Smash fanboys had overwhelmed the notability criteria with democracy. But anyway, I didn't realize that there was an ongoing discussion. I'll look at that, although I doubt I'll give my opinion. - 2257(Talk) 23:50, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
Oh, I know you weren't. :D Actually, the notability criteria has been overwhelmed by democracy. Smash Bros. has become at least second tier importance where it should be third or lower. I wish I could remember the policy page for you, but I've forgotten it. The current status of the "less Smash" movement is to find the middle line by merging minor content into series pages while leaving playable characters and stages as their own pages. Stumpers! 00:59, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
The Importance Policy page is found here. Time Questions 08:40, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
My comment was deleted. Must have been a glitch. Oh well. All I was going to say is that you can find all the Mariowiki namespace articles right here - 2257(Talk) 11:30, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
You, sir, are no newb. Do you admin on one of the Wikias maybe? Stumpers! 16:26, 19 August 2008 (EDT) (I'm admin of Animal Crossing City)
Me? Nah. I just happened to be playing around with it one time. This is actually the first Wiki I've joined. - 2257(Talk) 20:48, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

I don't get it

1. Why do the Final Smash descriptions show SSBB instead of the actual game they came from?

2. How are the two games mentioned for each item/character decided? SSBM had a much less awkward system - it showed the first (or only) game a charcter/item came from - so how were the games shown in SSBB decided?
