Is it presicly confirmed that Green is the Yoshi standard color. Just because Yoshi is doesn't mean the majority of them are. HyperToad@Green YoshiHT Sig.png

THE Yoshi is green, but there are lots of different colours.-- A message from Shadow Yoshi.

Green

Just because a yoshi is green, dosn't mean he is THE Yoshi. Right? A message from Shadow Yoshi.

According to the article: Yes. Time Questions 06:59, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

This article is kinda written as if Yoshi himself isn't really a character: for example, "In Mario Power Tennis, a Green Yoshi is playable." and "In Super Mario World, Green Yoshi had green skin, but orange gloves, brown shoes and a brown saddle." Where it says "Green Yoshi" or "a Green Yoshi", shouldn't it say something like "Yoshi, who is a Green Yoshi"? Isn't Yoshi the only green yoshi in the Marioverse?(exept the babies) I didn't see two green yoshis in a same game.Dry Bones in Paper MarioCount Bonsula I need blood...Ml2 drybones.png

Paper Mario has more than one green Yoshi. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:09, 4 March 2010 (EST)

I've tried asking the question multiple times: How do we know the difference between Yoshi appearing as a species character and appearing as a singular character known as simply Yoshi. I of course am returning to THE Yoshi, not just Yoshi species.

Nobody ever seems to know how to answer this question. Why? Because the Yoshi that appears in Mario games that is Green is simply Yoshi the specific character who appears in Mario games frequently. I suggest we simply merge this Green Yoshi page into Yoshi, the character, page and just have it so that any reference to Green Yoshi simply redirects back to Yoshi the character.

It has to be the same Yoshi because ever since the first appearance of Yoshi it was green. I'm also fairly certain that aside from special instances where the Yoshi are just a species, this Green Yoshi makes all of the same appearances as THE Yoshi character. Confusing right? That's why these pages should just be one in the same.

I'm not sure how thoroughly I can go over this but I would like to talk with as many people as possible about this because it's a very confusing subject.

Merge Green Yoshi to Yoshi THE Character

  1. FD09 Per proposal.

Don't Merge

  1. Walkazo (talk) - All the other colours get pages, so this has to as well for consistency's sake. Even though a lot of the time we can't tell is any given green Yoshi is the Yoshi, simply saying all the individuals are him is more speculative. And there have been a few cases where a green Yoshi that definitely wasn't Yoshi appeared, such as the Yoshi's Story Yoshi (a child, whereas the Yoshi was already an adult during the preceding Yoshi's Island). The Yoshi Kid's Stampede attack in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door involves massive amounts of green Yoshis, not to mention the newlywed, green Yoshi businessman found on the Excess Express, and the Yoshi Kid himself (sometimes). Baby green Yoshis hatch at the end of Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island DS. The modern version of the Game & Watch game Chef also has multiple green Yoshis (the first Yoshi lays an egg which turns into a new green Yoshi that replaces the first Yoshi and eventually lays its own egg in a never-ending cycle). That's all I can name off the top of my head at the moment, but I'm sure there's more.
  2. KS3 (talk) Per Walkazo.
