I have shocking evidence that may prove that the the Mushroom World is infact the same as the Earth. Read the first sentence of Orbulon's bio in WarioWare, Inc. Mega Party Game$. The bio is official as it was copid from the game's character introduction. It also reveals that the character in the Mushroom World speak English (at least the citizens of Diamond City do).--Knife (talk) 21:13, 14 February 2007 (EST)

Unless "earth" is just a colloqial term used by people on the planet, or that the Mushroom World is an alternate version of Earth (and would still be a different planet) - just like the cartoons and movie. Orbulon kinda screwed up everything, especially since the planets themselves are so different (look at the number of moons for each). It is also possible Diamond City is on Earth, not in Mario's World (note that most residents are humans). -- Son of Suns

But when Orbulon's spaceship crashes, it lands in a place that looks like the continents of earth, with even a blue background. But then again, the WarioWare series are pretty jacked up so the developers may have overlooked the canonicalness.--Knife (talk) 18:07, 15 February 2007 (EST)

Actually the cartoon and movie are non cannon. That shows that the brothers are most likely not from brooklyn and the mushroom kingdom is on earth

My two cents

Hey guys... I hope I'm not being rude, but doesn't it seem like we are making lots of unfair assumptions? Earth is referred to many times throughout the series, so to say that there are two different planets is just an assumption. We're assuming that canon is false or we are bending it to meet our own preconceived notions about the Marioverse.

Now, for those who believe that Mario is Missing! is canon, the Mushroom Kingdom is obviously not part of the "real world," but there is nothing as far as I know implying interplanetary travel. Therefore, it would make sense that there's an alternate dimention thing going on.

And the two moon theory? Doesn't hold up. The moon from Yoshi's Island was small enough that we wouldn't see it from our telescopes.

They are still two different planets even if one is in an alternate dimension. The cartoons strongly seperate the two, as does the movie. In the video games, it is less clear. -- Son of Suns

Is there a reason why there a links to the Continents of Earth on this page. - Pokemon DP

Probably because of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "7 Continents for Seven Koopas"; it had the Koopalings conquering the continents and Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool traveling to them. -- Sir Grodus

SPM Earth

Actually if you look closely it doesn't look like Earth...only my opinion. SuperLuigi821

I agree. It really only looks like Earth because it has blue water and green land - which would be expected of any planet habitable by humans. There are no distinctly recognizable landmarks that pin it down as Earth. It also seems a little odd that the Underwhere and Overthere are on Earth. CrossEyed7 01:48, 17 July 2007 (EDT)

I think that whole "earth" thing in SPM was a joke and wasn't canonical.

Do you have any proof for that, though? We could technically justify anything as a joke, which is the problem. I've felt the same way before, but what it comes down to is that if you want to draw conclusions, you have to take everything, even WarioWare's "jacked-up-ness" that was mentioned above. This is already mentioned on the Earth page. And Mushroom World article states it may be an alternate Earth. I think we have our bases covered. At the very least, in the cartoons and movie, there is Earth and Mario's world that are distinct. And the Earth in the edutainment titles is clearly not the same world featured in other games.
