To add something new to an old discussion, Advance Coin is also referred to as Ace Coin or A-Coin in the Super Mario Advance 4 Prima guide. I'm not sure if Advance Coin had another name in Japanese, but since the main thing differentiating them is the color, I'm willing to bet they're the same. If merged, the article title would be Ace Coin due to having a manual source. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:16, March 24, 2020 (EDT)

The biggest difference with the Ace Coins and Advance Coins is that five Ace Coins are found in each level in Super Mario Advance, while the Advance Coins in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 varies in the amount collected in each levels. --Gamermakerguy (talk) 21:24, March 24, 2020 (EDT)
It seems the JP name is different, so it alternatively could be seen as a progressive evolution from the red coins in SMBDX (as the SMA series itself is essentially a continuation of that). Additionally, that might mean Star Coins are additionally an evolution of this concept, since unlike Dragon Coins they're used for actual purchases in the game. Correction: the equivalent page in the English manual also refers to it as Advance Coin, so the name would be Advance Coin if merged. I'm not as sure about proceeding now. LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:51, March 24, 2020 (EDT)
