Layout

For this mission, five Silver Stars are scattered around the course. In order to collect one of them, the Shiny Shell is required. To reach the Shiny Shell, the player has to get over the ledge in the freezing pond with the Spindrifts. By jumping onto a Spindrift or by using Luigi's backflip, the player can get over the ledge. Hitting the ! Block on the right will produce the Shiny Shell.

The locations of the Silver Stars are:

  • Next to the fenced Goombas to the right of the starting area.
  • In the snowfield after the Chill Bully.
  • Next to the ! Block containing the Shiny Shell.
  • At the end of the long stretch of snow after the ! Block containing the Shiny Shell.
  • Underneath the platform with the Chill Bully on it. The Shiny Shell is required to collect this one.

Once all five Silver Stars are collected, the Power Star will appear in the Star Sphere at the start of the course (which replaced the Star Marker from the original game). If the player is attacked and drops a Silver Star, the Power Star will disappear until the player reclaims the dropped Silver Star.
