Template:Justreleased Template:Infobox Dr. Luigi, known in Japan as Dr. Luigi & Virus Buster, is an upcoming title in the Dr. Mario series. The game will be released exclusively for Nintendo eShop on Wii U as part of the Year of Luigi. As the title suggests, the game stars Luigi in a game very similar to Dr. Mario.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very similar to original Dr. Mario games. Players must eliminate viruses by stacking Megavitamins on them and ultimately creating a row of four or more of the same color. In this game, however, there is a new game mode named Operation L, which involves stacking multicolored L-shaped pills in reference to Luigi.

Combos are altered in this game. In Dr. Mario, when a player gains a combo, the opponent will receive two half-Megavitamins to stall progress. In Operation L, when a player gains a combo, the opposing player's upcoming Megavitamin will have its colors switched.

Game Modes

  • Operation L: The new mode of Dr. Luigi. In this mode, the player need clear the bottle of Virus, like in other Dr. Mario games. However, you are L-shaped megavitamins in all mode. The L-Shaped megavitamins are 2 normal megavitamins in a stack, and if this megavitamin stay on top of a virus, megavitamin or the end of bottle, the 2 megavitamins will separate. This mode is considerate more difficult than Retro Remedy
  • Retro Remedy: As the name suggests, it's the classic mode of Dr. Mario. In this mode, don't have L-shaped megavitamins, only normal megavitamins. This mode is simple: Clear the bottle from the virus with 3 pills of the same color of virus.
  • Virus Buster: Is a relaxing way to play Dr. Luigi. In this mode, are only touch-screen controls. After a while playing a stage, two megavitamins go appear, and then, tree. To make this mode relaxing, the music and some sound effects are slow, and the velocity of the pills too.
  • Online Mode: Like Dr. Mario Online Rx, you can play Dr. Luigi with friends and players around the world. You can play Operation L and Retro Remedy.
