Mario performs a Mega Strike on The Vice field in Mario Strikers Charged.
Mario flying into the air to perform a Mega Strike.

A Mega Strike is a strong shot in Mario Strikers Charged. It is a much stronger counterpart of Super Mario Strikers's Super Strike. To perform this move, players hold the B Button to charge until a meter appears. Through proper timing, a player determines the number of balls as the meter swings right. When the meter moves back towards the left, proper timing determines ball speed. For example, lining up speed directly on the orange marker allows for the fastest available shot. After the shot specifics have been determined, the captain launches into the air, powers up further and then slams the ball towards the goalie. After that happens, the goalie (Kritter) must block the goals another way.

Once a Mega Strike is performed, if the player scores any points, there will be a small cutscene celebration that lasts a few seconds.

Unlike Super Strikes that had a specific name for each captain in Super Mario Strikers, Mega strikes don't have (except for the Japanese version of the videogame). The translations are listed on the list.

Captain's Mega Strikes

Mario
Mario's Mega Strike in Mario Strikers Charged Firey Metal Mario: Mario turns into a fiery Metal Mario before mashing the ball.
Luigi
Luigi's Mega Strike from Mario Strikers Charged Thunder Luigi: Luigi jumps high into the air. He waves his arms around as the ball floats around him, leaving a plasma trail. Now electrified, he focuses his hands in front of the ball and launches it towards the goalie.
Peach
Peach's Mega Strike from Mario Strikers Charged Empress Peach: Peach jumps up as she sprouts wings and a giant crown that looks like a halo then she curls up in a protective position before driving the ball towards the goal.
Daisy
Daisy's Mega Strike Crystalized Daisy: Daisy jumps up high into the air with the ball. She then raises her hand charging crystals into her clenched fist, and punches the ball straight towards the goal emitting shining crystals throughout the mega strike.
Yoshi
Yoshi's Mega Strike in Mario Strikers Charged Winged Luigi: Flutter jumping to reach the ball, Yoshi's head turns orange and he sprouts wings, as if he had eaten a Blue Shell and transforms into Winged Yoshi, before swallowing and spitting out the ball towards the goalie.
Wario
Wario's Mega Strike in Mario Strikers Charged Swelled-up Wario: Wario jumps into the air. Sucking in large amounts of air that almost seem to form a small tornado, he swells up to balloon size and gets a pink face. After rearing back slightly, he unleashes all the air full force into the ball, resulting in a fiery explosion.
Waluigi
Waluigi's Mega Strike from Mario Strikers Charged Thorny Waluigi: Waluigi leaps high into the air and forms a deep red vortex behind him before whipping the ball with what appears to be a whip made of a long thorn bush stem.
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong's Mega Strike Bongo Donkey Kong: Once in the air, he gathers electricity in his arms and claps the ball, hurling towards the goalie.
Bowser
Bowser's Mega Strike from Mario Strikers Charged Superclaw Koopa (Bowser): Bowser jumps into the air, spins around once holding the ball as his claw extensions and spikes grow, his hair turns to fire, and his eyes go glow. He then throws the ball at the goalie with terrifying speed.
Bowser Jr.
File:MegastrikeBowserjr.png Sonar Wave Koopa Jr. (Bowser Jr.): Bowser Jr. jumps high into the air. As the background turns green, his head swells up slightly, and he suddenly opens his mouth to release sonar waves (Similar to his Super Ability), which hits the ball and sends it flying.
Diddy Kong
Diddy Kong's Mega Strike Psychic Diddy Kong: Diddy jumps high into the air, and, as the background turns orange he holds his hands together, crosses his legs and closes his eyes, as if he is chanting. The ball then suddenly bursts forward without him even touching it.
Petey Piranha
MegastrikePetey.png Bulbed Petey Piranha: A flower comes up underneath Petey, and closes Petey in it's bulb. The flower grows extremely high, and, when it has reached the top, bursts open, as Petey spits the ball out of his mouth at full force.

Trivia

  • Everyone's eyes glow white when performing their Mega Strike, except for Petey Piranha, who doesn't have any eyes, and Diddy Kong, who has his eyes closed.
  • All the Mega Strikes are seen in the opening cutscene apart from Petey Piranha's.
  • The order the Mega Strikes are seen in the opening cutscene are Bowser Jr's, Diddy Kong's, Yoshi's, Waluigi's, Daisy's, Wario's, Peach's, Bowser's, Luigi's, Donkey Kong's and finally Mario's.
  • Luigi's eyes somewhat resemble his alter-ego, Mr.L.
  • Mario's Mega Strike is the only one where he actually kicks the ball with his foot.
  • Petey's Mega Strike is the only Mega Strike where he actually does not jump (He is raised up by a flower). However, it hasn't been it that Petey is too heavy, because he can fly, and Bowser jumps when doing his Mega Strike. The flower is only because Petey is a (carnivous) plant/flower.
