Template:Worldbox World 2 is the second world of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The levels are all desert themed. There are eight levels in this world, two of them being castle levels that are guarded by Roy Koopa. Various Mushroom Houses are also found around here, giving the player items such as Starmans, Mushrooms, and Propeller Mushrooms. On the map, there is an area where Mario and the gang can get sucked into the sand and play in a level where they have to collect all the Toad Balloons without dying.

Levels

World 2-1

This level takes place in the desert and is the first level with sand geysers. This level has only one room, and no secret rooms that are reachable. All of the Star Coins are in plain sight, and rely on using the sand geysers to get them.

The level starts with a Koopa Troopa walking off of a platform onto a sand geyser towards the player. There is then a series of 4 sand geysers, the last of which is right below the first Star Coin. After this is another sand geyser, and a breakable block which contains a 1-Up Mushroom. Next is a section with geysers and many Goombas, which are continually being produced by a red Warp Pipe. There are more geysers, a Boomerang Bro, and the halfway flag. There are more geysers, this time with Koopa Paratroopas, and there also Piranha Plants on several of the main platforms. The second Star Coin is in a small indentation in one of the platforms. There is then a section with many Piranha Plants, one of which is elevated occasionally by a sand geyser. After some more geysers, there is the third Star Coin, which is obtainable by jumping on a red Koopa Paratroopa, and throwing the shell to obtain it. After this, there are more geysers, Koopa Paratroopas, a Boomerang Bro, and the goal.

The Star coins in this level are:

1 is over a geyser under an orange platform clearly visible.

2 is under a solid platform next to a geyser required to get back up.

3 is right over an abyss. (must use a koopa shell or a Propeller Mushroom)

Enemies

World 2-2

This level is filled with barrels and Spikes. There are areas with platforms infested with Koopas and Spikes. If the player goes into a pipe near the plaforms right after the halfway point, they can get a Mini Mushroom that will let them go into the mini pipe and let them skip a great part of the level.

Enemies

World 2-3

This level is a pitch dark cave, which is dimly lit by lanterns, Fire Bros. Fire Snakes, Venus Fire Traps and Spike Tops are common enemies in this level. The player can use a Fire Flower and shoot fireballs to improve visibility. At the end of the level, the player can get 99 lives by jumping on the koopa shell.

Enemies

World 2-Fortress

This castle is the first castle in World 2 and the third castle in the game. This tower features metallic fences that the player can cling on. As the player advances, purple fireballs will appear from above. They can be taken out with ice balls.

Roy Koopa is fought at the end of the tower.

Enemies

World 2-4

This level has many floating coins and Koopas, as well as POW Blocks. Every few seconds, Wind blows in the level, forcing the player to the right. There's a secret exit near the end that'll take the player directly to World 2-Castle. This exit, along with some Star Coins, makes use of Propeller Mario.

World 2-5

This level has many Pokeys, and there's also a Yoshi in this level, which makes taking out Pokeys easy, while following the beat of the music. Lakitu also makes an appearance here and throws Spinies, which can easily make the player's Yoshi fall in the quicksand.

World 2-6

This is a mushroom level that mostly has moving coins and blocks. The player will have to ride a pink block for the majority of the course, but a Propeller Suit is needed to access the secret cannon of the level. The cannon leads to World 5. Fire Chomps make an appearance here.

Enemy Course

World 2 Enemy Course

When 2-5 or 2-6 are beaten, 6 spots on the map will open, and every time the player moves onto one of the spots, 2 holes will shoot up. If the player(s) is(are) on the platform when this happens, they will fall.

World 2-Castle

This castle is filled with lava pits, and three way corridors, of which only one is the correct path, much like in Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. In order to complete that area quickly, the player needs to take the upper route, the lower route, and the center route in that exact order. Podoboos are also common in this castle.

Roy Koopa is fought here for the second time. He attacks by popping out of pipes that Kamek makes with his magic before the start of the battle. When Roy jumps out of a pipe, it might shock Mario (like a Sledge Bro). Mario also needs to avoid getting squished by Roy Koopa.
