References[edit]
Hello. When adding references, they should go after punctuation instead of before, and the following should be added at the bottom of the article (above the navigation templates and categories) if one isn't there already:
==References== <references/>

Ah, thanks for letting me know! The reason I did it that way is because I thought they were supposed to go before something like, say, a comma, and extrapolated that to all punctuation. Is that still true for commas or semicolons or whatnot in the middle of a sentence? "What is love, if not sharing food with someone, and then running away from that someone, as they chase after you, shouting, 'That was my food, give me back my food'?" - Yep, any punctuation right after the passage you're tagging the reference to (including parentheses).

Italics/categories[edit]
Hello, Drake Inferno! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |
Also, make sure to add any relevant navboxes and categories at the bottom of the article (check the changes made to your last two languages lists to see the relevant fixes).

New Super Mario Bros. U Youtube channels[edit]
Howdy. The Russian YouTube channel was created and supported by Nintendo of Europe GmbH, much like the ones they hosted in Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. It is not fan ran, and it represents the oldest examples of some of these enemies' localization histories in Russian, and took months track-down and assemble. Consequently, please to not replace them with gameplay footage. These video descriptions are on par with officially localized instruction booklets and are what the links are for.
Nintendo pulled its Russian websites shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and this has fragmented older sources of information. However, Nintendo officially did have a robust marketing presence directed towards Russian players, and this YouTube channel is one of the few ones that remains relatively accessible. This YouTube channel is as old as its European counterparts that do link to other channels (which are also viewable in these references), had videos published on the same schedule, and the descriptions in these videos are identical or only slightly modified from the ones provided in-game in the Russian localization of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which can be accessed in its entirety here. (Also, just like the YouTube videos themselves, the videos within New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe are also of the English version of the game). If this YouTube channel was not official, the fact that the descriptions are identical for most of these videos is an extraordinary coincidence. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:16, November 10, 2025 (EST)
Ah, fair enough, that makes a lot more sense. I do think it'd be ideal to have gameplay footage in-language in conjunction with it if possible, but I apologize for how I handled this one. I think there's a similar edit I made to the Boo page.Drake Inferno (talk) 23:27, November 10, 2025 (EST)
References sections[edit]
Hi! You have been adding citations to the Names in Other Languages sections of articles of the Category:New Super Mario Bros. U challenges. I am here to note that you are forgetting an important step. When you add references to articles, Mediawiki by default puts the text of the references at the bottom of the article. This means it goes below the navigation boxes, which does not look that great. Instead, you should make sure that articles that gain their first references also have "References" sections. References sections go below "Names in Other Languages" and "Notes" and above "External Links". They look like this:
==References==
<references/><
All of the text for the references autopopulates where <references/> is placed, and as a dedicated section it looks better than them going below the navboxes. Could you try adding these sections in your future edits? Salmancer (talk) 10:58, November 21, 2025 (EST)
Oh, that's good to know! Will do so in the future, thanks! Drake Inferno (talk) 11:13, November 21, 2025 (EST)
