Green Toadies[1] (singular Green Toady) are enemies in the Yoshi series. They are green variants of Toadies that, unlike Kamek's Toadies or Solo Toadies, don't wait until Baby Mario dislodges from a Yoshi to kidnap him; instead, they go after Baby Mario even while he is on a Yoshi.
History
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Solo Toadies make their debut in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island as uncommon enemies. They only appear in the levels Scary Skeleton Goonies! and The Deep, Underground Maze. Additionally, in the remake, they also appear in Mystery of the Castle?. Green Toadies appear, flying around slowly, and when they detect a Yoshi, they will slowly move towards him in a zigzag pattern. If a Green Toady touches Yoshi, it kidnaps Baby Mario and then flies quickly away from Yoshi, moving in a zigzag pattern. This prevents Yoshi from retrieving Baby Mario, causing the Countdown Timer to run out quickly. Like Solo Toadies, Green Toadies cannot pass through walls. Yoshi can retrieve Baby Mario by touching the Green Toady, which makes it retreat slowly, or also by defeating it by swallowing it to turn it into an egg, hitting it with an egg, or using a Special Item.
Yoshi Touch & Go
Green Toadies return in Yoshi Touch & Go. They appear in the main gameplay, where they can appear alone or in groups. When a Green Toady appears on screen, music will begin to play to signal its presence. Solo Toadies move quickly and continuously toward Yoshi. The player can trap them with clouds drawn with the stylus or defeat them by throwing an egg at them, which will award 2 points, equivalent to a Blue Coin. After being defeated, the Green Toadies will fall, and their propellers will fly away.
