The 'Shroom:Issue L/Character Reviews
First off, we have Rawk Hawk, a very big bird. He is two to three times as tall as Mario and was the champion of the Glitz Pit when Mario first went there. Rawk Hawk is a mutant bird, to explain him briefly. I don’t quite like his design personally (if they wanted to make a fighter-boss, why did they have to make it a bird), but I suppose Hawk rhymes with Rock and
Rock Rawk is one of his key phrases…
Anyways, I don’t really find him too funny, and I think his incorporation in the storyline has nothing special. Sorry if I’m offending anyone, but I just think Rawk Hawk could be replaced by… well, any other character.
Macho Grubba is the first sign that this game is failing in its end-boss design. Grubba is a twisted announcer for the Glitz Pit who uses his wealth to attract all of the strongest fighters, and then captures them and uses their power for himself. Macho Grubba is his form after absorbing the power of the Gold Star. I don’t find it very exciting; I suppose he could be a kind of Frankenstein monster, but it’s not exactly “end-boss” material.
His design is very similar to that of his previous form, but it just seems like Macho Grubba should be being controlled by a greater power. Oh well, that’s just my opinion.
Overall, it doesn’t look like I liked Chapter 3. It was actually one of my favourite chapters, but for some reason, its bosses just didn’t “click” with me.
Quite disappointed with these ratings… oh well…
