Train: Vehicle and/or Boss?

Should the Train be considered as a vehicle and a boss or is it only one or the other? It is featured as an element of the boss level, however the Train also makes an appearance in Mole Patrol where it presumably is not considered a boss. Would that appearance also make the Train an enemy? The train ia also a vehicle by definition, and the The Mole Train level consists mostly of Donkey Kong moving on top of it which presumably also makes it a vehicle.
