Notable members

Tatanga-seijin is the alien species to which Tatanga belongs.

In the games, Tatanga is the only member of the species that appears, first as the antagonist and the final boss of Super Mario Land and then as a regular boss in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins working under Wario. Tatanga appears as a small, purple, goblin-like creature with fangs and big ears. In the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of Wario's Woods, a well-dressed identical creature appears as one of Wario's minions, Katsini, although his relation to Tatanga is unknown.

A large group of Tatanga-seijin appears on their home planet in Super Mario Land 2 - 6-tsu no Kinka 2 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga. Contrary to their emperor Tatanga, the aliens are not warlike: when Tatanga returns after his 4-year long mission to conquer Earth alone with his Pagosu, he lies about ruling over the humans, to which the aliens rejoice that they will not have to go to war with the Earthlings. Despite their devotion and respect to their emperor, apart from one moment in which they doubt of his word after witnessing Warudeijī pushing him off his new space ship after calling her "his beautiful bride", Tatanga does not seem to reciprocate the feeling: beside lying to them of his fake achievements, when Warudeijī brainwashes them to be Wario's minions, Tatanga is mildly surprised but does not do anything to stop her, and later, when fighting Mario, he drops some bombs to deprive the area of oxygen and gravity, almost causing the death his people. However, considering how he admits after being defeated that he needs to improve himself to be a "worthy knight" for Daisy, this lack of care for his people might be caused by his alliance with Wario, which was what brought him back to the path of villainy.
