English title?[edit]

So I was finally able to put my hands on Super Mario Manga Mania English scans. And this is what is said about the author:

"He is also the manga creator of Super Mario Brothers 2 (Tokuma Shoten), Ore da-yo! Wario da-yo!! (It's Me! Wario!!) (Shogakukan), and many other series."

Do we consider this as an official English translation for the manga? My avatar's face to use in the signature Mariuigi Khed 08:30, May 3, 2026 (UTC)

Move the title[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

So, as mentioned above, while checking Super Mario Manga Mania, this is stated in the "about the author" section:

He is also the manga creator of "Super Mario Brothers 2" (Tokuma Shoten), "Ore da-yo! Wario da-yo!!" (It's Me! Wario!!) (Shogakukan), and many other series.

Now, the question is... should we consider these two lines enough to consider the English titles official or no? And if not, should we move Ore Dayo! Wario Dayo!! to its officialized Romanized title? I see someone already tried to move "Ore Dayo" to this English name, so... let's settle this.

Proposer: Mariuigi Khed (talk)

For Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]

Move to Super Mario Brothers 2 (manga) 5-0
Deadline: October 4, 2026, 23:59 (UTC) Extended to October 11, 2026, 23:59 (UTC)

Move to Super Mario Brothers 2 (manga)
  1. Mariuigi Khed (talk) Per proposal. Also, it's literally a matter of 4 extra letters.
  2. Hewer (talk) Of course.
  3. Jdtendo (talk) Per proposal.
  4. LinkTheLefty (talk) Says what it says. Also seems to be straight from the manga.
  5. Wilben (talk) Per all.
Oppose

For Ore Dayo! Wario Dayo!![edit]

move to Ore da-yo! Wario da-yo!! 1-4-0
Deadline: October 4, 2026, 23:59 (UTC) Extended to October 11, 2026, 23:59 (UTC)

Move to It's Me! Wario!!
  1. Mariuigi Khed (talk) Per proposal.
Move to Ore da-yo! Wario da-yo!!
  1. Jdtendo (talk) The source clearly uses "Ore da-yo! Wario da-yo!!" as the actual title, and then provides an informative English translation for explaining what the title means. If that translation was meant to be the actual English title, it wouldn't have been presented in parentheses after a title in another language.
  2. Hewer (talk) Per Jdtendo.
  3. LinkTheLefty (talk) Yeah, parenthesis is just for our accessibility, not the primary title. Unless we plan on changing Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic (“Dream Factory Heart-Racing Panic”) again?
  4. Wilben (talk) Per all.
Oppose (do not rename)

Comments[edit]

The Ore Dayo! Wario Dayo!! poll is missing a status quo option (i.e., "Don't rename the article"). Jdtendo(T|C) 18:57, September 19, 2026 (UTC)

I mean, between "official Romanization" and "official (but not definitive, but we are here to establish this) translation" I thought it was redundant. But fair's fair: added. My avatar's face to use in the signature Mariuigi Khed 19:04, September 19, 2026 (UTC)
