Hmmm... Major enough for an article...? My Bloody Valentine

She has a role in the Subspace Emissary-Palutena was created just because of her role. Also, she's a taunt... Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·
About the Subspace Emissary, we'll have to judge when we see the game. But the taunt isn't notable at all, that can fit on List of Cameos. How do you know it's the particular fairy Navi from Ocarina of Time? Brawl features Twilight Princess Link, who didn't have a fairy with him except for in bottles. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:17, 22 February 2008 (EST)
Yes, I was gonna make a note in that. But a blue fairy does follow Link around in the Wii version. Also, there's only one blue fairy in TP (the cursor). Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·
I think Navi should be moved to the list of cameos. Unless SSBB confirms that she'll have a larger role in the Subspace Emissary, she should be considered a cameo. ~DarkZero DarkZero Sig.gif 10:34, 22 February 2008 (EST)
Cursor? What cursor? I'm quite missing what you talk about. Also, Faeries following Link don't automatically have to be Navi. What was the name of the one from Majora's Mask? (which is as much related to Twilight Princess as Ocarina of Time is) To get to the point, this name (/identity) looks very much unconfirmed. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:58, 22 February 2008 (EST)

The name of the fairy from Majora's Mask was Tatl. ~DarkZero DarkZero Sig.gif 11:03, 22 February 2008 (EST)

Cobold, the Wii version of Twilight Princess used an animated fairy icon to show users where they were pointing the Wii Remote. It didn't play into the story at all and wasn't in the GCN version. Stumpers! 17:33, 22 February 2008 (EST)
-nods- Yes, she was Wii-only. We had no proof that fairy was Navi indeed however notice that no other blue fairy appears throughout Twilight Princess, or Ocarina of Time. They're all red or pink or...you get the idea. So that's why the blue fairy in Link's taunt must be Navi. As for the merge, she has as much importance to the story as Palutena (altough Palutena also appears as a Final Smash). I don't think this shou;d be merged just yet... Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·
Agreed. If anything, wait until Brawl is released and then make that verdict. ~DarkZero DarkZero Sig.gif 18:00, 24 February 2008 (EST)

Redirect/Merge to the List of Cameos. -- Booster

Yeah, redirect and merge it, please. My Bloody Valentine

Well, if this was only a cursor icon in the Wii version, it definitely isn't something that even got a name. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 07:02, 1 March 2008 (EST)

Merge[edit]

Should this even be merged? We don't even know for sure that this is Navi. I'm sure this has been debated before, but Navi does not appear in TP Link's timeline at all. She is only present in Ocarina Link's timeline. And I don't think her color confirms her as Navi either. In Phantom Hourglass, there was a blue fairy as well.Knife (talk) 13:00, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

Lets move it to Fairy and make Navi a redirectAlphaclaw11

Another problem, the fairy doesn't actually have any importance to the story and is only seen in the first two scenes with Link. In addition, she is part of a taunt. Might as well make an article on the Master Sword, it is much more important than a fairy who only makes a few cameos. Point is, I don't think the fairy even deserves an article, it is too minor.Knife (talk) 13:27, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

I meant if it is gonna be an article make it's name Fairy if it isnt gonna be an article then merge itAlphaclaw11 13:28, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

Careful. Merge doesn't mean put a subsection onto a different article, and then copy & paste the content of this one. The fairy should simply be noted at Taunt in the list of taunts (duh) and in the story section of the Brawl article. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:36, 6 April 2008 (EDT)
Oh. I thought the template said it would be merged to the list of cameos.Knife (talk) 16:10, 6 April 2008 (EDT)
That would be a different case. I just want to prevent "merges" as we had with Staff of Palutena merged into Pit's article and Waddle Doo merged into Waddle Dee Toss, which were basically nothing more than a copy & paste thing. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:33, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

It shouldn't be merged- she also appeares in the opening of Super Smash Bros. Melee where there are lots of shots from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and also she is floating around Link in a microgame in WarioWare: Smooth Moves (I think) and her name is definantly on the Mario Golf (N64) scorechart.- User:Zedxclon.

Support Merge[edit]

  1. Cobold (talk) - only a cameo.
  2. Edofenrir (talk) - Per all that stuff below.

Part 2[edit]

It has been a year and still this hasn't been resolved. Anyway, I really think this should be deleted or at least merged. I stand by my former reasons, the most important one being that she has no significance in any of the games she has appeared. At best, she is a minor cameo.Knife (talk) 23:48, 3 September 2009 (EDT)

Starting on another year, now. I support moving to List of Cameos. Redstar 08:30, 17 December 2009 (EST)
Uhm... I played some Zeldas, and AFAIK Navi only appears in Ocarina of Time. The Link from Brawl is modelled after the Link of Twilight Princess however, a game which never featured Navi. What I am trying to say is: Is this fairy confirmed to be Navi, or could it be just a random fairy (Nintendo apparently likes random things)? I'd say merge it, but rename it as "Fairy". - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 08:36, 17 December 2009 (EST)
The Smash series has got things wrong before, and also doesn't seem to concern itself with which timeline or canon character they use. Mario and Dr. Mario freely fight beside (or against each other), as does Link and Toon Link. This fairy could very easily be Navi, or a Navi-archetype. Personally, I have no idea where it should go... Does the game give a name in trophy info or anything? If not, then a Fairy article is the least speculatory. Redstar 08:43, 17 December 2009 (EST)
