Aren't mini boos the little red ones in the Mario Party games?
R.O.B. 128
- No, they're an item from Mario Super Sluggers. uper-Yoshi
- What do they look like? :o ☆R.O.B 128♂ 20:11, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
- Their like a Boo thats small lol. Sorta like if a regular Boo just shrunk size or something. uper-Yoshi
- Cool. :) What would we call the ones from Mario Party though? ☆R.O.B 128♂ 20:15, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
- Um I think Boos? Princess Grapes Butterfly

- Mini-boos are actually a reasonable part of the Mario universe. They are like smaller versions of Boos, yet play a different role. The Pink Boos are not mini-boos. Boo's defensive powershot does not summon mini-boos. Any more questions? I know a bit. GG445

SMG and LM[edit]
Should we remove the SMG and LM information as it is just describing small boos?

A.) Removed LM information as it was irrelevant.
B.) Should be moved to Mini Boo for singular?

- It should most definitely be singular since it is named as such in Mario Super Sluggers. I would also move the "Little Boos" from Yoshi's Story here. They're small-sized Boos that tend to act in a group. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:55, November 10, 2020 (EST)
- Made the aforementioned changes. I'd reconsider adding Luigi's Mansion information back into the article, since Boolossus' Boos are actually very visibly smaller than the game's other Boos, and at least two of the official guides note the size difference (small Boos by Prima Games and little Boos by Versus Books). I'm not sure if this is also the case in later games, but it's true in both GCN and 3DS versions of the first game. The same logic as big enemies should apply to small enemies since size is too self-explanatory. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:42, November 13, 2020 (EST)
Are these the boos that appear in NSB games when you pick a fake ghost door.[edit]
I discovered this article for the small species of boo exist. I think these are the boos that appear when you choose a fake door in the New Super Mario Bros series.
I think this should be added to the article since the mini boos are the boo that appear when you choose a fake door.

Clean up this page?[edit]
It seems that the only real "Mini Boos" are the Little Boos from Yoshi's Story, while the others were added simply because they're small. Even above, there's a user suggesting adding the Trick door effect here just because miniature Boos appear. I think there's a difference between Little Boo (the enemy) and Boos that are simply small. So I believe we should clean up this page to some extent. Personally, I suggest removing the information of Luigi's Mansion, Mario Power Tennis, Super Mario Galaxy, and Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. Note that the "name" of these Boos in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix is lowercased, so it's not really a name. As for Mario Super Sluggers, it should probably have its own page since it's an item with a separate name and different mechanics, merged here only because it happened to have a similar name.

Clean up this page (for real now)[edit]

Remove info and split Mini Boo 4-1-0
See my comments above; this is another classic case of putting everything with a similar size on the page, in this case smaller than a normal Boo, although these aren't called Little Boos anywhere else. So, as I said above, I think the right thing to do is remove the info about Luigi's Mansion, Mario Power Tennis, Super Mario Galaxy, and Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. Because these are not called Little Boos, its information is minuscule, and the one in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix is lowercase, so it's not really a name, as I stated above. Also, I'd split the Super Sluggers thing because 1: it has a different name, 2: it has a different function than the enemies in Yoshi's Story, and 3: it is an item, so it should get its own page anyway. All the info that is going to be removed from this page will be moved to the normal Boo page.

Remove the info and split Mini Boo (Support)[edit]
- Sorbetti (talk) Per proposal.
- TheCatLover738 (talk) Per proposal. If they are separate enemies, then they get separate pages.
- Wandering Peepa (talk) Per all. Not all "smaller-than-normal" Boos are specifically Mini Boos.
- Paradox (talk) Per all
Remove the info but don't split Mini Boo (Support)[edit]
- LinkTheLefty (talk) Leaning towards oppose on this because, while I can see splitting Little Boo (the enemy swarm) and Mini Boo (the item), the proposal doesn't account for mini-Boo (which is as much of an object as a mini-Blooper or an Ice Spiny); also, it so happens that none of these games are in the same genre, so there isn't much going for them as a consistent characteristic other than "these are miniature Boos."

Comments[edit]
For reference, name of the Little Boo source asset for Yoshi's Story is miniteresa. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:02, April 4, 2026 (UTC)
- @LinkTheLefty I could see putting mini-Boo with Mini Boo together due to their nearly identical names and because both are items. What do you think?

- The DDR one is more like an obstacle than an item, but that's nothing a {{distinguish}} couldn't patch up if it came down to it. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:19, April 4, 2026 (UTC)
The capitalization isn't much of a reason to not be considered a name, to be blunt, as that is a formatting choice (and the hyphenation more than cancels that one out). Most of the rest can probably be moved to Boo, but that one is discretely identified. It was also mentioned above that the small Boos in LM are named in at least some sources. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:06, April 4, 2026 (UTC)
- From what I could see, they were generically called small Boos and little Boos, but first, I don't think that is actually a name, it is just purely descriptive. Second, I think it's because of their relation to Boolossus. It's something like this: "Boolossus splits into four small Boos" or "Boolossus splits into four little Boos."

- I don't have a Japanese Luigi's Mansion guide, but assuming there's a sentence that translates to more or less same thing, there'd still be little hah indicating if it should be distinguished as a generic description or a proper name. It would really come down to 'did the guide author remember to give it a separate entry or at least a mention in the enemy list' and even then that isn't always reliable, but we can observe for ourselves that Boolossus' Boos aren't the same as the game's normal Boos. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:42, April 4, 2026 (UTC)
- But that's exactly why this page became what it is currently. I don't think everything should be about whether its size is actually similar or not, but rather whether it behaves like its previous appearance. In this case, the small Boos from Luigi's Mansion are nowhere near similar in function to the Little Boos from Yoshi's Story.

...Out of curiosity, where does the game ever call the "mini-Boos" that in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix? We checked the manual, and Page 14 just calls them "Boos".
