Rename Coin minigames to Koopathlon minigames?[edit]
The minigames that are exclusive to the Koopathlon mode are named "Coin minigames" on this wiki, but they are not named as such in Super Mario Party Jamboree. They are called "Koopathlon minigames" instead, and as far as I remember, they are not named or mentioned as "coin minigames" in any context. Shouldn't we rename the section (as well as all current Koopathlon minigame articles that refer to them as coin minigames) to better align with what the game refers to them by? - MrHonor 12:42, May 11, 2025 (EDT)
- If that's the case, then yes they should be: Mario Party Star Rush has its own name for its variant of Koopathlon (Coinathlon) and they're correctly referred to as "Coin Chaos" minigames.

- Upon a look at the minigames in Free Play, Jamboree DOES refer to Koopathlon minigames as "Coin Minigames" upon opening up the minigame instructions. Despite this, the category it appears in is still "Koopathlon Minigames", so I will make changes to the article for that fact. My mistake for not checking properly! - MrHonor 00:08, May 12, 2025 (EDT)
Screenshots[edit]
I'm currently trying to get some screenshots in for the new minigames. It appears however, that if the camera is enabled, you can never take screenshots of the game while it is active via the Capture button (it just won't allow you and says "Unable to take a capture now"). As a result, this heavily impacts the Bowser Live minigames since they require a camera in order to work. I do have an Elgato capture card at home that I'll have access in a week to be able to get proper screenshots with the camera enabled, but that's going to still be a challenge, for one thing I'll mention below.
I'm not going to be sure what the policy is towards being able to take screenshots of the camera minigames, since those are naturally going to be nearly impossible to do without humans (I do have a couple of plushies at home I'll have access to in a week that I can also test with). It's likely a privacy concern to just upload screenshots of yourself just for the minigames, so I'm not sure how we can make do with that. Again, I'll be able to properly check if plushies will fare well, but currently it's already a challenge to get screenshots for the Switch 2 minigames. I have tested a Ralsei plushie that I currently have on me, but it does not capture properly on Bowser Live/when the background is removed - it will probably require more human-like plushies on hand like a Mario, Luigi, or Adeleine one I have at home to test. Again, it's likely a privacy concern to upload any actual human-based screenshots.
The Koopathlon, Kaboom Squad, and Rhythm minigames do not have Switch 2 counterpoints and thus are still stuck in 1280x720 resolution. Will likely need to retake those (and the Super/Superstars minigames) using a capture card. BF10 (talk) 00:33, July 24, 2025 (EDT)
- Sparks (talk) suggested asking public internet personalities if they want to give us their photos. We could also ask permission to use screenshots from their videos. These solutions mostly defuse possible privacy issues given that those people already have pictures of their face on the internet, though they require the wiki to be dependent on people not on the wiki. That could complicate things like getting additional screenshots in a timely manner. Salmancer (talk) 04:13, July 24, 2025 (EDT)
- It's worth noting that some (if not all) capture devices and even devices with video output support can act as a camera when connected to Switch 2, so maybe something like a stock photo fed through that way could be used instead?

- So far I have tested my Elgato HD60 capture device, which gets the screen in 1080p but does not provide a USB camera input. If anyone can recommend what can be used to capture a virtual camera for the Switch 2 (like a screenshot to be sent to the input device), that would be nice.
- I did try to test with my own set of plushies, but appears the game does not like to recognize those pretty well on Bowser Live mode. At best, I only got a Mario plush to show up properly; the others (including Adeleine, a character literally based on a human) don't show up properly and at best appear as headless versions of themselves. I presume the game is specifically looking for human-based features (like how only human hands without any obstructions can swipe an iPhone), which of course no other object can do.
- By the way, thanks to L151 (talk) for getting an image of Talking Flower Says. I found it was taken from the trailers, which honestly is probably the best practice for now since for sure those that did take part in commercials or trailers did consent in the first place. I just took proper 1080p screenshots from the trailers in the meantime, as I find we're not showing the best features for Bowser Live without four human players. I think this is perhaps the best resolution.
- I will be updating the other Switch Mario Party minigames to be in 1080p resolution. BF10 (talk) 18:22, July 29, 2025 (EDT)
