How did the Japanese get their name even though the music was from the then-U.S exclusive game?[edit]

VS. Super Mario Bros. was released in 1986, but only in the U.S. How did Japan got their name when the S.M.W album was released?

I'd imagine that Nintendo of America would've given some kind of report to Nintendo of Japan about it, seeing as Nintendo of Japan is the one in charge of the entire company. Wandering Poplin (talk) 23:16, May 26, 2026 (UTC)
