So, where does the picture come from? Now I know this one is off. A similar picture is right there in my manual, but the key difference is the coloring, position, the Albatoss' head and body, and the fact that the Bob-omb has an entirely different design from any artwork. This is incredibly iffy. Is it from Advance? It looks somewhat new. If so, why would they go out of their way to FURTHER themselves from the sprites? This looks like fan-art. It is from this art gallery at Gamekult, it is promotional artwork for Super Mario Advance. Indeed, the newer artwork pieces notably differ from the original ones in the NES manual (e.g. Ostro was once black and looked more like an ostrich). --Grandy02 12:46, 28 August 2009 (EDT)

Ah, I see. So it's Advance artwork. That's very strange since the Bob-omb looks off on all accounts, but then again, I'm not Nintendo. I can see why they'd want to update some of the designs like Shy Guys' weird symbol and I guess Ostra and Porcupo. Did they still not update Phanto, though? Romanian name

Where does the Romanian name come from? I would assume it would be from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, as I don't recall any Super Mario games being dubbed in Romanian, but I can't find any information for a Romanian dub of the show. Apikachu68 (talk) 04:20, February 4, 2025 (EST)

Apparently, I added it way back in 2012. Pretty sure my only source was my pubescent imagination and misunderstanding of what the NIOL table is about, as I similarly made up Romanian names for a few Virtual Boy Wario Land enemies around that time. Evil Eagle

Evil Eagle ≠ Asbatoss?

Without it already being mentioned, I couldn't find anywhere that says the Evil Eagle is an Albatoss, not even in the game manual, neither the Deluxe version nor the Japanese version. I'd like to know where this information came from. I know Link's Awakening has several elements from the Mario series, but the Evil Eagle is quite different from the Albatoss. The only similarity is that it's a bird and it's red. I don't think that's enough to definitively say it's the Albatoss, especially since it was never confirmed. It was only red due to limitations, as its appearance in current Zelda games is white. Furthermore, even the Zelda wiki doesn't mention it as belonging to the Mario series. I'm not a Zelda expert or a language expert, so you'll want a second opinion, this article does contain the answer. In a pretty obscure place, so yeah, it tracks that you didn't see it. The Names in other languages section of this page specifies that the Evil Eagle's name in Japanese is アルバトス, or Arubatosu when romanized. "Arubatosu" is "Albatoss" transliterated into Japanese, so we're sure its an Albatoss. And this is true in Japanese too, since the name "Arubatosu" is also used for the Albatoss enemy in Super Mario USA, the Japanese version of the game Super Mario Bros. 2. (I mean the version that brought Super Mario Bros. 2 to Japanese audiences, not the Japanese-only game that was turned into Super Mario Bros. 2. That's a different topic) Hope this helps!
