Mario City is a metropolitan city run by Mario as its mayor. It appears in Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 7 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga, and it is based off SimCity.
As Mario is performing his mayoral duty, he gets squashed by the statue of Super Mario Great, which then fuses with him and gives him the Henshin Capsule to use in case of emergency. The emergency arrives in the form of Super Mecha Koopa, a giant robotic Bowser destroying the city. Yoshi (Mario's secretary) and Luigi (ministry of defense) take Mario to the Great Bōeigun Kichi, the HQ of the Great Bōeigun, the defense force against kaiju. Using the force's arsenal, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi try to stop Bowser and save the students and staff of the BomBom Yōchien. At one point, Mario uses the Capsule and turns into the gigantic Great and beats the monster up, saving the city.
