Mario begins on an island in front of the pipe. Entering it will shoot Mario to the sky. He will first land on a moving yellow platform, where coins begin to shoot up from below like a fountain. This is followed by a Coin Roulette Block. More coins begin to be shot out where two 10 Gold Coins and one 100 Gold Coin fall from the top right corner of the screen. This is followed by two Coin Roulette Blocks and one large Coin Roulette Block. Finally, more coins will be shot out, marking the end of the level.

Mario begins on an orange platform at a beach. The level is mainly made up of hills of sand. Cheep-Cheeps that jump out of the water first appear here in the game. A ? Block containing a Super Leaf can be found here. Floating Barrels follow, which sinks when Mario is on it for too long. A Gold Ring appears here, which make coins follow behind Cheep-Cheeps. More Cheep-Cheeps follow, along with several more barrels. A row of Brick Blocks can then be found, one of them containing a ? Switch which makes coins to be released from a green Warp Pipe above. Another is a multi-coin block. Another hill of sand follows, along with the checkpoint. Rotating platforms and Piranha Plants begin to appear. Another Gold Ring can be found on several orange platforms, along with more jumping Cheep-Cheeps. After that, two ? Blocks appear, one of them having a Super Leaf. Following that is another set of rotating platforms with a Piranha Plant on one of them. A Coin Roulette Block can be found above a pipe with a Piranha Plant in it. One last Gold Ring appears, with more Cheep-Cheeps along the way. Finally, a green Warp Pipe leads out of the area. In the last area, there are stone platforms and several more Cheep-Cheeps which can help Mario reach the top of the flagpole not far away.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: This Star Coin can be seen above three floating Barrels after the first Gold Ring. The player will need to hop off a Cheep-Cheep to reach it.
*Star Coin 2: Immediately after the checkpoint, the player should see a Piranha Plant beside several Brick Blocks and a ? Block with a Fire Flower above the rotating platforms. When the Piranha Plant returns to its pipe, Mario needs to wall kick off the pipe to find a hidden alcove with the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: When Mario reaches the Coin Roulette Block, he should stand on the barrel on the right of the pipe below it. The barrel will drop and reveal the Star Coin.

Time Limit: 500 seconds
Coin Rush Time Limit:  seconds
This is an underwater level. Mario begins in front of a pool of water where there is a small island in the middle of the water being circled by Snake Blocks. A red Warp Pipe takes Mario underwater. A few ? Blocks can first be found occasionally blocked by Snake Blocks above a Whirlpool which will disappear after a short while and then reappear again, like in New Super Mario Bros.. One of the ? Blocks contain a Fire Flower. Then, he will come across more Snake Blocks, Urchins and Cheep-Cheeps. After that, another set of Snake Blocks enclosing a Whirlpool with the first Star Coin can be found. This is followed by a black pipe which changes fireballs into coins enclosed in bubbles. More Snake Blocks and Cheep-Cheeps can be found, along with mini Urchins, followed by the checkpoint. Another Fire Flower can be found in a ? Block after that. This is followed by more Cheep-Cheeps and Snake Blocks. A P-Switch appears on a Warp Pipe on the ceiling, which causes blue coins to appear in an area where blue Cheep-Cheeps which follows Mario are swimming in. Following that are Snake Blocks where several Urchins are found. Not long after, the blue exit Warp Pipe can be found. Back in the overworld, a hidden block containing a 1-Up Mushroom can be found on a cliff to the left of Mario. Several Snake Blocks can be found circling several floating platforms above water, followed by the flagpole.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is early in the level. The player may want to wait for the Whirlpool to disappear before grabbing it.
*Star Coin 2: After the checkpoint, the player should enter the first yellow Warp Pipe which is enclosed in Snake Blocks and in between water currents. In the next area, the player should navigate around the Snake Blocks to reach the Star Coin located in the middle, where a Spiny Cheep-Cheep which follows Mario will be guarding it.
*Star Coin 3: The last Star Coin is located in an area enclosed with Snake Blocks above an Urchin near the exit pipe.

This short level takes place in a jungle. Mario begins in front of two spider webs where a ? Block containing a Super Leaf can be found. This is followed by a Goomba and a Scuttle Bug above purple toxic waters. Another Goomba and more spider webs can be found, where a ! Switch can be seen (see Star Coin 1). This is followed by more Scuttle Bugs, along with the checkpoint. More Scuttle Bugs and spider webs follow. After that, more spider webs can be found along with the third Star Coin. Climbing up the rest of the spider webs will then take Mario to the flagpole.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: When the player sees the first ! Switch, Mario needs to activate it by climbing the spider webs, being careful not to fall into the toxic waters. Red blocks will then appear over the pool of toxic water, allowing access to a yellow Warp Pipe on the left which takes Mario underground. Another ! Switch can be found in a Brick Block, which makes more red blocks appear. Mario will need to go towards the left to find a Scuttle Bug and the Star Coin. Mario will then have to bounce off the Scuttle Bug at the right time to obtain the Star Coin and avoid falling into the toxic water before the timer runs out.
*Star Coin 2: After the checkpoint, Mario needs to bounce off the second Scuttle Bug to reach a yellow Warp Pipe. Warping through it will take Mario to a secret area. Mario will then need to activate a ! Switch on the ground to make several red blocks appear. He will them have to quickly climb up the blocks and bounce of the lone Scuttle Bug to obtain the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: The last Star Coin is located below an orange platform in between two spider webs just before the flagpole. Mario needs to climb the spider webs to reach the Star Coin while avoiding falling into the toxic water.

This is an underwater level. Mario begins on an orange platform in front of a pool of water where there is a strong water current and Cheep-Cheeps. A ? Block containing a Fire Flower can be found, followed by the Warp Pipe going underwater. When Mario first enters the water, the player can see strong water currents coming from yellow pipes on the left side of the screen. Mario will immediately move with the current. A P-Switch can be found on the ground just to the right of the pipe, which will make blue coins appear. Cheep-Cheeps and Mega Cheep-Cheeps are the enemies Mario has to avoid. After that, there will be a fork in the path, where he could change paths through a hole if he took the wrong one. After the fork, Mario will then reach a red pipe which takes him to the next room, where there are no currents. Inside, there are Cheep-Cheeps moving in circles. Going forward there are currents in a small maze with mini Urchins. After that is the checkpoint. A red pipe will then warp Mario to another area with current. Here, Mario needs to avoid the Urchins and mini Urchins. There is also a Roulette Block where the current changes direction. The player has to navigate through the area while avoiding the Urchins to reach the exit pipe. Back in the overworld, Mario will then cross calm waters using the orange platforms. This is followed by the flagpole.
Completing this level will unlock World 3-Fortress, skipping World 3-2 and World 3-3.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: When Mario reaches a fork in the path in the first water area, he should take the upper path to immediately swim into the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 2: In the second water area, Mario will need to locate a hole on the floor below the Cheep-Cheep ring on the left of Mario when he first enters the room. Going down the hole and moving to the right takes Mario to an area with the Star Coin, where there are strong water currents. Mario will have to activate a ? Switch on the ceiling to turn off the current and quickly swim to the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: When Mario reaches the third area where he has to avoid Urchins, he should keep up while avoiding the Urchins to swim into the Star Coin.

This is an autoscrolling underwater level. It's also the only level in the game where Spike Pillars make a apperence. Mario begins on a blue platform above the water with a single Fishbone. A ? Block containing a Fire Flower can first be found, followed by a Warp Pipe in the water leading to the next area, which will begin autoscrolling upwards as soon as Mario enters the area. Two Fishbones can first be found, followed by moving walls, which will move after a set period of time. Some of these walls are spiked. More Fishbones will then appear. After all the moving walls, there are spiked pillars coming from the left and right. In between these is a safe zone where the checkpoint and a ? Block containing a Fire Flower is. After that, a Red Ring will then appear. More Fishbones and spiked pillars will then appear, followed by a green pipe. Warping through will lead Mario to a small area with a ? Block containing a Fire Flower and the boss door. Here the player needs to defeat four Reznors on a single wheel with four rectangular ? Blocks to clear the level.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: At the beginning of the level, there is a hole on the left side wall in the water. Mario needs to swim into the hole and being careful not to swim too low, swim to the left to find the Star Coin above two ? Blocks above the water with a Fishbone.
*Star Coin 2: In the second room, the player will navigate through several moving walls. The Star Coin is located above the second spiked wall on the right, guarded by two Fishbones.
*Star Coin 3: After the checkpoint, there is a Red Ring which has 4 pipes in between. One of them is green, which is of different colours of the rest of the pipes. Entering it will take Mario to another area with the Star Coin. The player has to avoid the strong water currents to reach it.
Secret Exit
Mini Mario is required to access this secret exit. Just before the checkpoint and the area with the spiked pillars, there are two small blocks which will move away to make way for Mario to pass through. Following the block on the right will bring Mario to a mini Warp Pipe. Following the path will lead Mario to the flagpole.
This exit unlocks a green Toad House and World 3-Cannon.
3
To unlock this level, the player needs to locate the secret exit in World 3-Fortress.
Mario begins on jungle grounds in front of the cannon. Entering the cannon will initiate a countdown, then Mario is blasted off. Mario will not be able to stop running throughout the level. First, Mario will come across a Scuttle Bug, followed by a Wiggler. Then a Red Ring can be found in between a Scuttle Bug and a Wiggler. The level continues with more Scuttle Bugs and Wigglers. After a few of them, the level ends.
Completing this level unlocks World Flower-1.

Time Limit: 500 seconds
Coin Rush Time Limit:  seconds
Mario begins in front of a Wiggler. This is followed by several ? Blocks and Brick Blocks, of which one has a Super Leaf. This is followed by a floating crate on toxic water, a rectangular ? Block containing another Super Leaf above a Wiggler, a Koopa Troopa, more crates and a Red Ring. More Wigglers can be found on crates, along with the first Star Coin. This is followed by more Koopas, more crates and a Wiggler, where a ? Switch can be found on the ceiling, making coins fall out of a green pipe nearby. A red pipe leads Mario to the next area, where the checkpoint can be found. Here, the toxic water will occasionally rise and drop, which can either help or obstruct Mario. More crates can be found here, along with another Super Leaf. Here the player has to jump from crate to crate when the tide is low. This is followed by several Koopas and more crates. After that, the green exit pipe should be in sight. In the final area, there is a lone Wiggler, followed by the flagpole.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: This Star Coin is located above the second Wiggler on crates. Mario needs to bounce of the Wiggler to reach it.
*Star Coin 2: Located after the checkpoint. After Mario crosses the area where he has to jump from crate to crate when the tide is low, the player can notice a small area with the Star Coin below Mario after reaching land. During low tide, the player will have to dash to the coin and dash back before high tide returns.
*Star Coin 3: The last Star Coin is right after the second Star Coin. Similarly, the player has to wait for low tide before wall kicking to the Star Coin from the crate.
Secret Exit
Before warping through the green pipe near the end of the level, the player should be able to see a red pipe underneath Mario for which the path is blocked by Brick Blocks when the purple toxic water lowers. The player will need to use a Shell from a nearby Koopa to break the Brick Block when the toxic water lowers. Then Mario should wait again and when the water lowers, dash and crouch through the path to access the red pipe before the water rises again. This pipe will take Mario to an area with more toxic water, a floating crate, some blocks used as platforms and the flagpole.
This exit unlocks World 3-B.

Time Limit: 500 seconds
Coin Rush Time Limit:  seconds
Mario begins in front of a ? Block containing a Super Leaf which moves away when Mario tries to hit it. There is a yellow platform which, when Mario stands on it, will cause two Peepas to appear, carrying the platform to the door. When it arrives there, the Peepas will shake the platform and disappear with the platform. Going through the door, Mario will find another platform. There will be several Boos along the way as well which can obstruct Mario's path. On the other side, there are two doors. The one at the bottom is a fake door. The other door leads to the next room. Here, a Red Ring can be found, along with two platforms to help Mario get the Red Coins. At the bottom a Boo can be found hiding a Coin Roulette Block. The door there leads to the next area, where there is a fork in the path. Under the door he just came out from is a ? Block with a Super Leaf. Then, three platforms can be found. The left platform ends under the second Star Coin. The center platform ends under the leftmost door. The right platform ends under the rightmost door. The door in the middle (to the immediate right of the Star Coin) can be accessed by taking the right platform. The two doors on the ground on the right are fake doors.
*Left Door: This door leads to a room with a moving platform and a Boo. The moving platform moves around in a loop. There are also two Question Blocks with a Brick Block in between them. The Brick Block contains a 1-Up Mushroom, which Mario should grab fast.
*Middle Door: This leads to a room with three platforms, one longer than the other two. Upon entering the room, the Peepas will carry the platform upwards. Halfway through, they will switch positions. After they move up a short distance more, the two small platforms will stop, while the longer one will continue upwards to the exit door. After a few moments, the left platforms will move to where the entrance to the secret exit is which, however, is enclosed in Brick Blocks (see below for more info). The right platform will continue upwards, rejoining with the longer platform to the exit door.
*Right Door: This door leads to a room with the third Star Coin and two doors. There are lots of Dash Coins here. Mario must jump on the moving platform avoiding the Boo in the room. The door on the right is fake, so Mario must go to the left door.
Through the last door, there is a Boo and three platforms, followed by the flagpole.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: This Star Coin is below the ceiling of the second room. When Mario is on the first platform, he should not jump to the next when the platform moves there but should duck under the Boo and continue. The Star Coin is above the end of the track (the track cannot be seen) and is obscured by a Boo.
*Star Coin 2: When Mario reaches the room with the fork, he should ride the left or centre platforms to reach the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: When reaching the fork, Mario should take the right platform and enter the rightmost door. This leads to a room with the third Star Coin.
Secret Exit
Raccoon Mario is required to access this exit. Mario needs to enter the door immediately to the right of the second Star Coin in the room where Mario comes to a fork (that is, the fourth room). Mario will need to ride on the leftmost platform in the next room, where he will be taken to a door which is enclosed by Brick Blocks. He needs to break the blocks to access the door. This door leads outside, where a single moving platform can be found. This is followed by the flagpole.
This exit unlocks World 3-Castle, skipping World 3-5.

This beach-themed level takes place underwater. Mario begins in front of the pipe going underwater. A Roulette Block first appear, followed by a Blooper hiding in a pipe. More Bloopers can be found along with many coins. A Boulder will then begin rolling down. A Blooper Nanny will then appear along with a P-Switch which makes blue coins appear. A larger Boulder will then appear. Further down is the checkpoint. A ? Block containing a Fire Flower follows along with more Bloopers and a Red Ring. This is followed by more Boulders and finally the exit pipe. Back on land are several stone platforms leading to the flagpole.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is enclosed in several blocks which cannot be broken by Mario. Mario will need to move further until another Boulder appears, then swim backwards, ensuring that the Boulder can catch up, then allow it to break the blocks.
*Star Coin 2: The player needs to look for a yellow pipe on the floor where the Boulder used to break the blocks for the first Star Coin was, then warp through it. The second Star Coin can be found below several pipes that are infested with Bloopers. When Mario goes near the Star Coin, it will move to the other side of the room. Mario will need to avoid the Bloopers to obtain the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 3: Similarly to the first Star Coin, Mario needs to move further down from the Star Coin until a Boulder appears, then move backwards and allow the Boulder to break the blocks enclosing the Star Coin.
3
To unlock this level, the player needs to locate the secret exit in World 3-4.
Time Limit: 400 seconds
This level is never chosen in Coin Rush.
Mario begins in front of two ? Blocks in a forest, one of them containing a Mini Mushroom, which is the main power-up of the level. Then, Mario has to swim past the wall through a small pool of water. There will then be a fork in the path. The player can choose to take either the yellow pipe or red pipe. Either way, warping through any will take Mario to an autoscrolling beach area.
This level is a unique level as it has two checkpoints, one on each pipe. The other two levels with two checkpoints are World 6-Bowser's Castle and World Star-Castle, as they are Bowser fights.
*Yellow Pipe: The screen scrolls slower in this area. Mario begins in front of a Gold Block. Mario will need to dash on the water continuously until the end of the level. There are spiky objects in the air and Cheep-Cheeps and Mega Cheep-Cheeps in the water. Also present are Koopa Troopas and Koopa Paratroopas. An area in the sky also has Bullet Bills. In the second area, in addition to all these, there are also many Brick Blocks which obstruct the player's path.
*Red Pipe: The screen scrolls faster in this area. This is basically the same as that in the yellow pipe, only with more spiky objects, more Koopas and Paratroopas, the presence of Star Coins, more Brick Blocks and the absence of the P-Switch in the second beach area.
Both pipes lead to the same area, a jungle area with a small pool of water and the flagpole. If Mario took the red pipe earlier, he will come out from the pipe on an elevated orange platform, allowing Mario to easily touch the top of the flagpole.
Completing this level will unlock World 3-Castle, skipping World 3-Ghost House and World 3-5.
Star Coins
To find Star Coins in this level, Mario must take the red pipe path.
*Star Coin 1: Mario needs to bounce off the first Paratroopa to reach this Star Coin while avoiding the spiky objects.
*Star Coin 2: Still in the first area, from the second piece of land which Mario comes across, he will need to bounce off a Koopa Troopa to reach an orange platform above and quickly enter the mini pipe. Then, Mario will need to continuously bounce on the Bullet Bills until he gets the Star Coin on the far right.
*Star Coin 3: In the second beach area, Mario will need to wall kick off a Brick Block wall to reach the Star Coin. It may take several tries before Mario can obtain it.
3
Time Limit: 600 seconds
Coin Rush Time Limit:  seconds
Mario begins on a platform which is being circled by a Grinder. This is followed by two ? Blocks, one of them with a Super Leaf. This is followed by more Grinders bouncing from their tracks. A Bone Goomba follows. This is followed by more Grinders and a section where Mario has to climb up orange platforms while avoiding the Grinders. At the top is a door leading to the next area, where the checkpoint can first be found. Another ? Block containing a Super Leaf can be found. The next section features many Grinders and large Grinders on tracks along the path. Another Super Leaf can then be found. A Bone Goomba can be found, followed by more large Grinders in an area with platforms that move up and down. This is followed by the boss door.
The boss here is Wendy O. Koopa, whose battle takes place on a long orange platform with water below. Her attacks are mainly water-based. She can cause the room to be filled with water in which state Mario cannot attack her, except with fireballs. Blowing her whistle causes Cheep-Cheeps to swim in the water, or cause them to jump out of the water below when it is dry. To defeat her, Mario has to stomp on Wendy's head three times when it is dry, or use Fire Mario to attack her at any time.
Star Coins
*Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin can be found enclosed by a Grinder in the section where Mario climbs up orange platforms. One way to obtain it is to activate a hidden block with a 1-Up Mushroom below the Star Coin by hitting it from a small orange platform, then jumping up from there. Otherwise, Mario should wait till the Grinders are not obstructing him and then jumping to the Star Coin.
*Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin can be found after the checkpoint right after the section with giant Grinders, being guarded by a single Dry Bones on a platform with Grinders coming from the water.
*Star Coin 3: At the boss door, look for a hidden block on the right wall. Climb up that block to reach a ledge leading to the Star Coin.

World 3 is the third normal world in New Super Mario Bros. 2. This world is both beach and jungle-themed, although the music is similar to that of World 4 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which is a beach-themed level. The world is also similar to World 3 from New Super Mario Bros.. This world is unlocked after completing World 2-Castle or World Mushroom-Castle. The first half of the map is located at the seaside while the second half is located inland, where the jungle is, although the levels can take place between any of the two locations regardless of it's position on the world map.

There is a total of 12 levels and 3 Toad Houses in this world. There is one of each kind of Toad Houses in this world. Of the 12 levels, 8 are levels on the main path. Of these levels, 5 are normal levels, one is a Ghost House and the other two are the Tower (or Fortress) and Castle levels. Of the remaining 4 levels, two of them are normal levels (one is a secret level), one is the Cannon level and the last is the Rainbow level. The world's boss is Wendy O. Koopa, who is fought at the Castle level. However, the player can avoid fighting the bosses in this world by taking the world's Cannon, leading to World Flower.
