All-Terrain Vehicle
All-Terrain Vehicles, abbreviated as ATVs (known as Quad bikes outside North America) are vehicles first appearing in Mario Kart 8, alongside karts and bikes. There are quad bikes in different colors and they have features that differ from karts and bikes. Like the bikes, Princess Peach, her metal form, Princess Daisy, and Rosalina still wear biker outfits while riding ATV's.
The basic model of the ATV for all characters is the Standard ATV, a quad bike showing the character's emblem over the plate on the front and on the sides of the rear. The color of a Standard ATV also changes, matching the character's custom color. Only three kinds of ATVs are available in the game.
