Foxfire

Foxfires [1] (also called Firefoxes) are enemies found only on the rivet stage of Donkey Kong. They are smarter, larger, and faster than their Fire counterparts of the other stages and chase Mario more intently. They can be dispatched with a hammer. Unlike Fire, which comes out of an oil drum, Foxfires spawn from the opposite side of the screen from where Mario is standing. There is a limit of up to five Foxfires on screen in the arcade version and four for the NES port.
