Dear Captain Toad,

It has come to our attention that you are currently in violation of the userspace policy. Please review the policy and abide by it, or else a warning will be issued. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please try to edit some actual articles as well. Also, try to use the Show Preview button before saving your changes so you don't have to make ten edits in a row. Thanks, and keep contributing. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 15:44, 27 January 2016 (EST)

Yes, I will try to edit more other pages it's just that i was trying to get started by creating my user page and stuff like that. And I was experimenting with stuff like the page color and fonts. Thanks for the notice and i will try to make Super Mario Wiki a great place. File:Captain Toad miner.PNG Captain Toad Captain Toad TT artwork05.png 20:23, 27 January 2016 (EST)

If you're extremely concerned about keeping your edit count on userspace low but want to continue experimenting with wiki format, you can always head over to our sandbox. And if you have any questions on how to format or other wiki-syntax-related things, don't be afraid to ask for help! Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. OK I will go to the sandbox but if I have a question where should I put it? File:Captain Toad miner.PNG Captain Toad Captain Toad TT artwork05.png 21:06, 27 January 2016 (EST)

You can check our FAQ, but if your question isn't answered, you can ask on the FAQ talk page or directly contact users like me. By the way, check our own site notices to format your signature; it should show up as {{User:Captain Toad/sig}} when you're directly editing. Finally, before you edit, make sure you use the "Show preview" button so you don't have to make repeated consecutive edits. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. {{aboutfile}}

Hello, Captain Toad. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

I think you are allowed to not use the template at all if you do so choose. I have done that when {{aboutfile}} isn't really necessary. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:23, 30 January 2016 (EST)

OK, thanks for bringing that to my attention I didn't know it was important. Captain Toad, in Super Mario Maker. Captain Toad A Captain Toad sprite 07:54, 31 January 2016 (EST)
You can also remove unused numbers, like so:
{{aboutfile|1=Captain Toad's mii|2=created a picture on the wii u|3=me}}
There is also the {{user}} template so you don't have to use me. Usage: {{user|Captain Toad}} produces Captain Toad (talk). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:08, 1 February 2016 (EST)

Personal Images

I'm going to take a guess here that the two recent images you uploaded (File:HAA 0001.JPG and File:HAA 0003 (2).JPG) are personal images. Tag them appropriately. MarioWiki:Personal Images for more details. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:03, 1 February 2016 (EST)

I'm a little confused, what do I do? Captain Toad, in Super Mario Maker. Captain Toad A Captain Toad sprite 08:00, 2 February 2016 (EST)
Just add {{personal-image}} to the two files I suspect are personal images. Specify your name like so: {{personal-image|Captain Toad}}. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:05, 2 February 2016 (EST)
I'm still confused where in the text should I put it? Captain Toad, in Super Mario Maker. Captain Toad A Captain Toad sprite 18:09, 2 February 2016 (EST)
You can put it anywhere. You can even remove {{aboutfile}} if you want and put it in place of {{personal-image}}. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:17, 2 February 2016 (EST)
Is this correct? Here? Captain Toad, in Super Mario Maker. Captain Toad A Captain Toad sprite 09:19, 3 February 2016 (EST)
No, you need to put the template in the image file. Click on the links in the image file Wildgoosespeeder linked you (such as File:HAA 0001.JPG), edit the page, add the template there. Since someone already did it, you don't need to do it, but keep it in mind for the future. You don't need the template in your userpage, though! Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. I think I get it now, all i have to do is when I uploaded it I should have put that in there. got it. Captain Toad, in Super Mario Maker. Captain Toad A Captain Toad sprite 15:33, 3 February 2016 (EST)
